Experienced and engaged outpatient nurse wanted - make a difference in forensic-psychiatric district psychiatry

With start on the 1st of December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, an outreach nurse is sought for forensic-psychiatric district mental health services (RDP). The position is full-time with 37 h/week. Afsnit RDP is the department's forensic-psychiatric outpatient service.

The target group is outpatient patients with court orders for psychiatric treatment, often with severe psychiatric disorders and substance abuse issues. The tasks are therefore at once complex and nursing-professionally challenging. There is a need for collaboration with both patients, relatives and cross-sector partners. There is in the position a substantial amount of written tasks – including drafting statements and treatment plans.

The catchment area for this position is Esbjerg, Varde, Vejen and Billund municipality.

RDP covers the entire Region of Southern Denmark, and is a large and well-functioning team consisting of 3 secretaries, 1 dietitian, 1 chief physician, 1 senior nurse, 4 physicians, 1 junior doctor and 22 outpatient nurses. In addition, we collaborate with psychologists, social workers as well as the unit for mental observations. In addition to collaboration with the patients, we work closely with Denmark’s Prisons, the various local psychiatric services and inpatient wards at the region’s various psychiatric departments.

Tuesday and Friday there is mandatory attendance in the department at Østre Hougvej in Middelfart for conferences, supervision etc. - the other days you work out with the patients in the local areas.

We meet the patients either during home visits, at the housing institution, at Denmark’s Prisons or similar. One of our major focus areas is the start of the integrated substance abuse treatment.

We are looking for a colleague who has

• Burns to create a holistic approach to the patient in cross-sector collaboration
• Has good experience with psychiatric nursing – preferably forensic psychiatry
• Has experience working in the patient’s own home
• Has knowledge/experience with substance abuse treatment
• Can plan and work independently
• Values collaboration with relatives
• Has good documentation skills – including knowledge of drafting treatment plans.
• Has a valid driver's license

Things to know

Salary according to collective agreement, supplemented with an annual psychiatry allowance, the amount depending on your seniority.

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position as a nurse. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in accordance with the collective agreement for the Health Cartel, no. 32.17.1. In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
