Work with complex control cases

In the field of Special Control we combat organized, systematic and complex tax-economic crime and work with a wide range of fraud types, including VAT and chain fraud and money laundering.

As a case handler you will be responsible for your own case portfolio with control of companies and individuals' tax and duty affairs. You must be able to analyze extensive material, identify tax and duty issues and discrepancies and translate this into decisions to ensure payment of correct taxes and duties.

Your tasks will include

  • plan and conduct tax and duty investigations, including obtaining information and material from citizens, companies, financial institutions and relevant systems
  • review and analyze accounting material, bank statements and other material
  • prepare proposals for decisions and decisions with legal assessments and numeric calculations of evaded tax and duties
  • contribute to other tasks depending on your competencies, e.g. reviews pursuant to the Penal Code section 290a including dialogue with the police or quality assurance of colleagues' cases.

You will receive a thorough introduction and training, based on your competencies and experience.

You have experience with tax, VAT or duties

We expect that you have a relevant education such as tax auditor, cand.jur., cand.merc., cand.merc.jur., professional bachelor in tax, HD or diploma in tax. Alternatively you have through your professional experience gained good competencies and prerequisites to work with both accounting, VAT and tax tasks.

We also place emphasis on that you

  • have several years of experience in one or more of the areas tax, VAT, duties, accounting or auditing
  • work independently, structured and thorough
  • have analytical ability and can maintain overview in complex cases with large amounts of information
  • are curious and thrive on understanding new problems and changing control areas
  • are a good team player, contributing actively to sparring and knowledge sharing
  • communicate clearly and precisely – both in writing and orally.

It is also important that you are motivated to deliver results, both when working alone and in collaboration with your colleagues.

Become part of Special Control

You will become part of the Special Control 10 unit. We report to the department Tax Economic Crime and Money Laundering 2, which consists of 119 employees spread over six units.

Special Control 10 consists of colleagues who are all passionate about the task. We are a unit with a focus on helping each other through sparring and feedback, and that everyone succeeds with the tasks. We work with professional development both for the individual and the unit. It is therefore important to us to have feedback and a desire for development. In addition, we focus on having a unit with good cohesion, where we share the goal of creating good well-being. We collaborate closely with other units in Special Control and the rest of the Tax Administration.

We work with complex control cases and focus on areas where companies and individuals attempt to commit tax-economic crime, and where there is often - but not always - an indication of punishable actions. The cases are complex and often very diverse. In addition, we handle reports to the police in cases of suspected violation of section 290a of the Penal Code on behalf of the Tax Administration.

We offer a workplace with freedom under responsibility, flexible working conditions and good opportunities for professional development and further education.
