About us

The area is Region Nordjylland's special offer for adult citizens with developmental disabilities. The organization consists of a total of 5 residential facilities and 1 activity and socializing facility, which in the pedagogical work have Neuropedagogy, LA2U and Gentle Teaching Nordic as Shared Professional Foundation.

We are a traditional workplace that values collaboration, interdisciplinarity and ongoing development. The Secretariat consists of dedicated employees with different professional backgrounds – including 5 special education consultants.

Your tasks

As a special educational consultant in the secretariat at OVUS/Sødisbakke you will be a key person in supporting the ongoing professional development of our living and day services.

The task will include, among other things, to serve managers and professionals who work for citizens with developmental disabilities. This includes e.g. teaching, observation-, assessment- and advisory tasks with both leaders and employees and residents in the area. Currently we are especially focused on the work with implementation; including how we best support practice, so new knowledge is translated into action and used in our practice. Specifically you will become one of two local instructors in LA2U at all our offerings, which is why teaching experience and knowledge of the LA2U concept is an advantage.

In addition, you as a special educational consultant with us will also have to participate in tasks for external partners as a supplier for the Social and Housing Authority's national knowledge- and advisory organization VISO. In connection therewith, there may also be tasks to participate in regional and national development tasks and knowledge networks.

You will have Mariager as your primary workplace, but you should expect to travel across the country, as you approximately two working days per month are expected to be connected to the task as a VISO supplier.

Your areas of work are especially

• Observations, assessments and advisory tasks internally at Sødisbakke as well as for VISO
• Teaching tasks regarding staff at Sødisbakke.
• Process leadership and implementation of new knowledge and practice.
• To engage in learning and development processes

Your profile

• You have a relevant education as educator, psychologist, nurse or occupational therapist – preferably with further education.
• You have experience with consultancy work, and it is an advantage if you have experience as a VISO specialist.
• You have experience in working with citizens with developmental disabilities.
• You are a certified LA2U practitioner or prepared to become one.
• You have basic knowledge of neuropsychology.
• You are good at communicating theoretical knowledge and translating them into practical solutions.
• You are systematic, quality-oriented and good at documentation.
• You are development-oriented and curious about new knowledge.
• You are a team player who can also work independently and take responsibility.
• You are good at planning and prioritizing your work time.

Practical information

• Full-time position of 37 hours per week.

If you are a trained educator you are hired under the applicable collective agreement for social-pedagogical staff at residential institutions, etc. entered with the Social Pedagogues

If you are a trained nurse you are hired under the applicable collective agreement for non-leading staff in the Health Cartel area entered with the relevant organizations.

If you are a trained occupational therapist you are hired under the applicable collective agreement for non-leading occupational therapists etc. entered with the Danish Occupational Therapy Association.

If you are a trained psychologist you are hired under the applicable collective agreement for academics employed in regions etc. entered with the Danish Psychological Association.
