Experienced specialist in geotechnics, foundation engineering or hydrogeology

Do you want to work with complex professional problems within geotechnics, foundation and hydrogeology and help ensure a solid basis for decisions on large construction projects?

We are looking for an experienced specialist who can take on the role of geotechnical responsible, hydrogeological responsible, or a combination of both, on the Danish Road Directorate's projects and contribute to professional development across the organization. You may have your primary experience in geotechnics and foundation or in hydrogeology and groundwater lowering.

We do not expect you to be a specialist in both areas. The most important thing is that you, based on your professional background, can translate investigation results into practical decisions and are keen to work at the intersection of technology, legislation, advisory services, procurement and client responsibility.

Your tasks

We offer a versatile position where you will navigate the room for maneuver between contractor, consultant and internal stakeholders. There will also be opportunities to actively participate in standardization work, road rule work, etc. and thereby influence requirements and methods going forward.

We tailor your tasks to your profile, and depending on your competences they will include among other things that you will take responsibility for:

• planning and procurement of geotechnical or hydrogeological investigations and advisory services
• design and assessment of geotechnical solutions
• mapping of hydrogeological conditions and design of groundwater lowering, reinfiltration, etc. in close cooperation with our environmental and drainage team. spar with colleagues and advisers across disciplines

You will become part of a strong technical environment with competences within geotechnics and foundation. At the same time you will have the opportunity to strengthen and further develop the hydrogeological area and create better coherence between groundwater, geotechnical conditions, design and construction.

Your profile

We imagine that you have a background as an engineer, hydrogeologist or geotechnician, and have solid experience with geotechnics and hydrogeology from e.g. the consulting or contractor industry.

We also would like you to have

• experience with geotechnical or hydrogeological design and modelling as well as construction technology
• experience with procurement of investigations and construction contracts
• experience with planning and follow-up on construction works
• willingness to challenge traditional solutions and to help test and introduce new technology
• experience with authority processing and preparation of the technical basis for permits.
• experience with setting the right requirements and ensuring that the results can be used in the projects’ decisions and execution.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of road construction, bridge foundation or larger tunnel structures and construction pits, but regardless of background we will ensure to warmly welcome you to the position and give a thorough introduction to the tasks.

You will become part of the geotechnical group, which consists of about 25 colleagues primarily in Skanderborg. We focus on developing our professional competences and, in cooperation with the rest of the organization, creating a basis for successful projects. Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed and paid according to the applicable state employees’ agreement. As an academic you are hired according to the current agreement between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations for academics in the state. You are classified based on academic seniority (basic grade 1-8) cf. the applicable AC collective agreement.

In addition to the base salary there is an opportunity to negotiate an individual qualification supplement depending on experience and qualifications. Depending on your seniority and professional qualifications you may be employed as senior consultant or principal consultant cf. AC collective agreement Appendix 4 . You will in that case be placed as senior consultant or principal consultant, lower grade. You can see the base salary grades on page 31 in State Salary Overview.

A pension scheme of 18.07% will be attached.

The Danish Road Directorate is an agency under the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing. Your employment area will be under the Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing with the institutions belonging to it at any given time.
