About the job

Are you interested in the environment, regulatory work and concrete solutions? Do you thrive with a mix of professional in-depth tasks, dialogue with citizens and businesses, and collaboration with colleagues across disciplines?

We are looking for a colleague to work with soil, groundwater and wastewater, but who also wants to contribute to other tasks in the department.

A versatile job with professional responsibility and room for initiative

You will become a part of the Nature and Environment department, where we work with a wide range of regulatory tasks. We solve the tasks in close collaboration with each other and with citizens, companies, utility companies, advisers and other partners.

Your primary tasks will be within soil contamination, groundwater and wastewater. The concrete task distribution will be adapted to your competences, experiences and the department's needs.

You will, among other things, come to work with

  • Soil contamination – regulatory handling, assessments, permits and concrete cases on soil management and contaminated areas.
  • Groundwater – groundwater protection, drinking water interests, permits, supervision and dialogue with, among others, waterworks, bore owners and advisers.
  • Wastewater – regulatory tasks concerning wastewater, including wastewater planning, applications for connection and discharge, etc.
  • Cross-disciplinary environmental tasks – depending on your competences and the department's need to take on tasks in other areas, for example companies, agriculture or waste.

You will have the opportunity to both deepen your primary areas of expertise and contribute to the department's overall task-solving. We emphasize that we use our competences flexibly and help each other when tasks require it.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have a relevant education or experience in one or more of the fields we work with. You could be a geologist, engineer, biologist or have another relevant natural science background. In the end, the most important is to find the right team player with drive and a desire to contribute to the team's task solving.

You may be experienced and ready to take independent responsibility from the start. You may also be earlier in your career and want to develop professionally in a municipal environment.

We place particular emphasis on that you

  • Have a professional interest in soil, groundwater, wastewater or related environmental areas.
  • Can translate your professionalism into practical solutions and understandable regulatory handling.
  • Work in a structured way, take initiative and follow your tasks through to the end.
  • Communicate clearly and constructively – both in writing and orally.
  • Want to collaborate, share knowledge and help across disciplines.
  • Are curious about new tasks and contribute positively to the development of our working methods.

Knowledge of municipal regulatory work and experience with GIS or other relevant IT tools is an advantage, but not a requirement.

What do you get with us?

You get a versatile job with the possibility to influence both your own tasks and the way we solve them.

We offer

  • Professional challenges and variation – you take responsibility for your own cases and have the opportunity to work with several different environmental areas.
  • Collegial sparring – you become part of a skilled professional community where we help each other and make use of each other’s competences.
  • Influence and initiative – we expect you to contribute with ideas and professional perspectives, and there is room to develop the task solving.
  • An informal everyday life – we value good humor, helpfulness and a respectful tone.

Nature and Environment is part of the Center for Planning and Environment, which also includes planning and construction. We are 38 employees in the entire center and collaborate across departments when the tasks call for it.
