Would you like to help strengthen Denmark's civilian engagement in the world's flashpoints? Through the Deployment Facility for Peace and Democracy (UFD), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers exciting challenges and the opportunity to make a difference through secondment to the EU’s civilian crisis management missions.

Job description and qualifications

The EU has posted several positions with the EU’s civilian mission in Somalia.

However, applications can only be submitted for the following position through UFD

• SOM 9015 - Chief of Staff

Conditions

The duration of the deployment is expected to be 12 months with possibility of extension.

Deployment takes place under the terms of the Deployment Facility for Peace and Democracy: Regulations for UFD personnel.

Please note that it is a requirement for deployment through UFD that you are a Danish citizen.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs/UFD forwards applications from the best-suited candidates to the EU, which invites the most qualified applicants for interviews. The EU also accepts applications for the position from other EU member states. If the EU wishes to fill a position with a Danish candidate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/UFD will sign a contract with the person – a so-called secondment.

About UFD

UFD is a deployment facility under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which enables Danish experts to be sent on civilian crisis management missions that aim, among other things, to stabilize and strengthen the security sector and promote peace and democracy.

UFD belongs to the Office for Migration, Peace and Stabilization (MIGSTAB) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. MIGSTAB has the overall political responsibility for UFD, while the daily administration since 2008 has been handled by NIRAS A/S .
