Professional caseworker for FOA 1

From January 1, 2027, FOA 1 seeks a professional case handler who will help ensure good pay and employment conditions for our members. You will become part of an engaged community that works for decent terms for FOA’s members and a strong professional organization.

FOA 1 is part of FOA – Fag og Arbejde – Denmark's largest union for workers in, among others, the social and health sector and technical service. We work for fair pay and employment conditions, strong working communities, and a high professional quality in both public and private welfare.

As a professional case handler you will be a central part of FOA 1’s work to provide members with professional guidance and support in their working life. We do not pay the world’s highest salaries, but a good working environment and good engaged colleagues.

Your tasks

As a professional case handler you will, among other things, be required to

• Negotiate and interpret pay and employment terms
• Advise and service FOA members and handle cases within the pay and employment area
• Handle cases regarding employment law, holidays, maternity/paternity leave, terminations and dismissals, etc.
• Educate internally and externally – both colleagues and elected representatives – about pay, employment and relevant rules
• Participate in the department's other professional work where your qualifications can be put to use
• Manage case systems and registrations in connection with member inquiries
• Be able to work independently

There may be occasional evening and weekend activities in connection with meetings, courses or member events. These are not remunerated separately, but are part of the position.

About you

We imagine that you

• Are clear about and can identify with the values of the trade union movement
• Have solid experience with pay and employment areas, e.g. from a trade union, HR function, unemployment insurance fund or public administration, possibly a trained lawyer
• Have knowledge of employment law, collective agreements (especially in the municipal and regional area) and the sector-specific legal system
• Want to negotiate, interpret rules and translate them into concrete advice
• Thrive in member contact and can handle both short questions and more extensive cases
• Are comfortable communicating knowledge – both orally and in writing – to different target groups
• Have good collaboration skills and actively contribute to the department's collegial community
• Can keep an overview during busy periods and meet the members with a calm and service‑minded approach

Salary and pension

• Salary according to pay grade 45 in the municipal pay system
• Flexible benefits scheme
• Fully employer-paid pension scheme

Working hours and flex time

• The working week is 37 hours including a paid lunch break
• Working hours are arranged by the individual employee to suit the needs of the work
• There is a local flexitime agreement

Vacation and special days off

You receive

• A total of 6 weeks of vacation according to KL’s holiday agreement
• FOA week – 1 extra week of paid leave, earned and taken according to the principles of the Holiday Act
• Pay on regular public holidays (New Year’s Day, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Pentecost, Whit Monday, Christmas Day 1 and 2)
