About the job
Middelfart Municipality's Family Department seeks two child and youth advisers for maternity leave cover in the Ungeteam
In the Ungeteam, two of our skilled colleagues are on maternity leave, and we are therefore seeking two substitutes.
We are a department known for a high professional level. We are often used for teaching at UCL, as an internship site for various observations, research and studies. We are not afraid of being examined by others – we are inviting and welcome new knowledge and external sparring. If this sounds like a workplace for you, we hope you will read on.
Who are we?
As a workplace, the Family Department is characterized by a warm, informal and appreciative atmosphere.
In 2025, we conducted a wellbeing survey with an excellent result. The areas where we have points of attention, we actively work to improve – for example through developing a wellbeing action plan that is shaped by the wishes of the employees, and in a collaboration between the occupational health representative, the shop steward and management. In this period we have a particular focus on flexible working hours. Work life and private life must fit together – we are very aware of this and also want to lead by example so that individuals can build a sustainable working life.
We also want our department to be characterized by diversity, and we are aware that this requires something from us as an employer.
The Family Department consists of the Ungeteam in addition to the Children’s Team, Reception, Foster Care Consultants and the Disability Team.
The department is supported in the social field by two professional coordinators and a team leader; the Disability Team has its own team leader. The Family Department is housed in our town hall in Middelfart, where we sit in an open office landscape.
The Family Department has prepared a work foundation , so we are always sure that our visions correspond to the reality we operate in. In the work foundation, it states, among other things: "We create movement in the lives of children, youths and families. We must be brave and dare to challenge ourselves and each other. Therefore, we must also be in motion ourselves both professionally and personally. We develop new competences and utilize the high professional level that exists in the department. It is a shared responsibility to raise and solve complex tasks."
This means that there must be room for social work sparring and reflection among colleagues and between staff and leaders.
In the work foundation, it is also stated that in addition to the task-oriented authority work, we expect our child and youth advisers to work cross-disciplinary and inclusive: "We focus on being positive cultural carriers in the interdisciplinary cooperation, so we ensure that everyone aboard commits to incorporate the child’s perspective as central.(…)
We are aware of ourselves as actors in the child’s life story, and therefore we have a great responsibility to be concrete and realistic in our descriptions of the child and the family."
We can offer
- Good introduction and a mentor during the first 3 months.
- A development partner.
- A team with a high level of professionalism, and where we work to utilize each individual’s competencies as much as possible in relation to our core task.
- An accessible management that is curious and persistent in your professional and personal development, for the benefit of the families we work with.
- We are in dialogue with University College Lillebælt about educational programs focusing on inclusion in 2026 for the entire department.
- Development days with the team once a year.
- Regular group supervision with an external psychologist.
- Annual performance review (MUS).
- We work according to the social work method ICS, which puts the child/youth at the center and identifies the child’s/youth’s and the family’s resources and needs.
- We use the DUBU journal and registration system.
- Laptop and mobile phone.
- Salary according to collective agreement and a new salary arrangement.
