About the job

Experienced animation professional sought as film consultant for talent development

We are seeking a part-time consultant employed from January 4 to December 31, 2027.

Do you have experience in developing animation projects, and are you motivated by spotting and developing new talents? As a film consultant at Filmværksted Viborg, you will become a central sparring partner for both our users and staff. You will help assess projects, allocate support, and contribute to the development of the next generation of animation talent in Denmark. At the same time, you will become part of an engaged professional environment around Filmværksted Viborg and The Animation Workshop.

The primary task of the film consultant is to allocate support and develop projects. The decisions must contribute to Filmværksted Viborg’s overall support policy, which is formulated in collaboration with the Filmtalent Foundation. Support is allocated on the basis of an artistic assessment and an assessment of the applicants’ potential talent, carried out by the film consultant in collaboration with Filmværksted Viborg’s manager, production manager, and technical manager.

The consultant’s work includes, among other things, the following

  • 4-5 application rounds with deadlines in February, May, August and November, typically 20-30 applications per round.
  • Preparation of written, detailed rejections or approvals.
  • Participation in the event “Q&A Online Session” once per quarter up to the application deadlines.
  • Professional sparring for the development projects at Filmværksted Viborg.

It is expected that the total annual workload is around 300 hours. The workload is highest around the four application rounds in February, May, August and November. The dates for the application rounds are fixed, while planning for the other activities can be adjusted to a greater extent.

The film consultant’s work is carried out mainly from home or externally, but we expect you to participate in selected meetings and events at our offices in Viborg.

We envision that you

  • have professional experience in the development of animation projects as a producer, director, animator or similar
  • have an eye for both artistic quality and talent development
  • thrive in the role of sparring partner and mentor
  • can provide constructive feedback on projects in development and production
  • can work in both Danish and English

At Filmværksted Viborg you work closely with colleagues who help new animation creators move their projects forward every day. You will become part of an environment where professional curiosity, knowledge sharing and development are natural parts of everyday life.

At the same time you will have great freedom to plan your work outside the fixed application rounds and meetings.

Employment terms

Employment is as a part-time hourly teacher in accordance with the circular on the agreement for external lecturers and hourly teachers at, among others, the university colleges under the Ministry of Education and Research.

It is a part-time position that can be combined with other work. Salary by agreement.

Commencement 4 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We expect to hold interviews on 12-13 November 2026. The interview can take place in person at our Viborg offices or online at the applicant’s request.

Applications and CV as well as other relevant documents should be uploaded via the link below no later than 2 November 2026.

Further information can be obtained from the Head of Talent & Skills Development and Filmværksted Viborg, Gry Lindebjerg, email: [email protected], tel. 87 55 49 42.
