Finance Controller for an international growth company

We are seeking an ambitious and analytical Finance Controller who will be a central part of our financial function and contribute to strengthening financial governance in an international growth company.

You will have a broad role with responsibility for accounting, controlling, reporting and process optimisation, where you work closely with the company’s finance function and the rest of the organisation to ensure a solid basis for decision-making and efficient financial processes.

Your role

As a Finance Controller you will be a key person in our finance function and be responsible for ensuring high quality in financial reporting and governance. You will have significant influence on the development of processes, reporting and data quality and become an important sparring partner for management in the areas of finance and performance management.

You will work closely with the company’s Finance & Legal Director and actively contribute to strengthening the company’s financial foundation through valid data, strong analyses and continuous improvements of processes and systems.

Your responsibilities

You will among other things be responsible for

• Creating a strong and stable controlling process around month-end close with focus on structure, quality and timeliness.
• Carrying out monthly, quarterly and annual closings, including accruals, reconciliations, consolidation and quality assurance of financial data.
• Preparing financial statements, financial reports and management reporting.
• Ensuring correct balance reconciliations, cash flow monitoring and ongoing optimisation of the company’s financial performance.
• Driving the budget and forecast process from collection and qualification of inputs from the business to a finished budget and ongoing forecasts, as well as follow-up on variances.
• Developing and optimising reporting tools and dashboards in Power BI.
• Preparing KPI reports, business cases and financial analyses that support management decisions.
• Ensuring high data quality and data integrity throughout the Record-to-Report process.
• Supporting compliance with accounting principles as well as VAT, duties and tax rules.
• Identifying and optimising key financial processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with a focus on efficiency and automation.
• Identifying and implementing concrete improvements in the finance function in general – from idea and prioritisation to implementation and anchoring in the organisation.
• Assist with other tasks in the department when needed.

Who are you?

You have a strong accounting background combined with good analytical skills and a natural interest in optimisation and digitalisation.

We imagine that you

• Have a relevant education in economics, accounting or auditing.
• Have experience from a role as controller, auditor or similar finance function.
• Have solid experience with accounting, controlling and financial reporting.
• Have experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Are strong in VAT, duties and general compliance requirements.
• Are an experienced user of Excel and preferably Power BI.
• Have experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Have an interest in digitalisation, automation and process optimisation.
