About the job

Do you want to develop solutions that support some of the central digital processes in the immigration area? Do you have practical experience with software development, a strong professional foundation and ambitions to take greater responsibility for your tasks in a multidisciplinary development team? Then it might be you we are looking for.

For our Development Unit we are seeking an engaged Full Stack Developer who can actively contribute to the development and further development of our solutions.

With us you don’t just get tasks to code. You will become part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team where you follow your solutions all the way from development to production deployment and subsequent maintenance, and you will have the opportunity to influence the technical solutions and the way we work with software development. We do not expect you to know all our technologies from day one.

Instead, we expect you to have practical experience with professional software development, a solid software professional foundation and the ability to quickly get up to speed with new technologies, problem statements and existing code bases.

Who are we?

Koncern IT is organizationally placed in the Danish Immigration Service, but our tasks reach much wider. We function as the technical backbone that binds the agencies together and ensures that the digital solutions work across the entire Ministry of Immigration and Integration – including the department, the Immigration Service, the Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), the Repatriation Agency and the Refugee Board.

We are in the midst of an ambitious transformation of our development organization, where we build and strengthen our internal development capabilities. We organize our development into cross-disciplinary DevOps teams that own the solutions throughout their life cycle – from development and testing to deployment and further development.

This also means that you join an organization in motion. We have ambitions to develop the way we build software, and you will have the opportunity to bring your own experiences into play and help shape our technical solutions and ways of working.

Your upcoming main tasks

In Koncern IT we work with a wide range of tasks – from complex backend systems and integrations to modern frontend interfaces. You will work directly in our existing codebases and contribute to applications that, among other things, support case processing, software components for passport and residence card ordering, and integrations to Digital Post and CPR.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • Develop and further develop solutions: You develop new features, extend existing functionality and fix bugs and technical issues in our solutions.
  • Take responsibility for your own development tasks: You help clarify, break down and estimate tasks and take responsibility for driving them from needs and analysis to implementation and testing.
  • Work across technologies: You primarily work with our .NET and Angular-based solutions, but you should have a desire and ability to move across technologies and parts of our stack when the task requires it.
  • Ensure quality in the solutions: You work with, among other things, code reviews, automated tests and documentation as a natural part of the development work.
  • Contribute to the team’s technical solutions: You actively participate in technical discussions and help make technical choices together with the rest of the team.
  • Monitor solutions in production: You contribute to deployment, fault finding and stable operation of the solutions the team is responsible for.
  • Contribute to our development organization: You bring your experiences and ideas into play and help continuously improve our development practices, tools and ways of working.

Your profile

We are primarily looking for a skilled software developer who, through professional development work, has built a solid technical foundation. You have a relevant IT-related education with software development as a significant element.

We emphasize that you can not only write good and clean code, but also can understand a problem, understand the context in which the solution must work and take responsibility for driving your tasks forward.

We expect that you

  • Have practical and professional experience with development in .NET and C#.
  • Have practical experience with SQL databases.
  • Have practical experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Have experience with a frontend framework such as Angular, Blazor or similar.
  • Have experience with Git or equivalent version control, as well as experience working in existing codebases.
  • Can drive your own development tasks and have ambitions to take on greater independent responsibility from clarification and analysis to implementation and testing.
  • Can work independently and in a structured way while actively seeking and contributing to professional sparring.
  • Have a solid software professional foundation and can familiarize yourself with new technologies and frameworks.
  • Can collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues to translate needs into functioning solutions.

It is an advantage if you have experience with

  • DevOps and CI/CD
  • Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

As a person you are professionally curious and naturally take ownership of your tasks. You thrive on solving problems with others, but you do not need every step of a task pre-defined. You dare to ask questions, challenge a solution constructively and bring your own experiences into play. At the same time you know when it makes sense to reach out for sparring with a colleague. We do not expect you to know our systems or domain from day one. Instead we expect that you have the necessary experience and professional ballast, as well as curiosity to learn them and contribute actively to the team’s deliveries.

Your upcoming workplace

In Koncern IT we are about 90 skilled and engaged employees who are responsible for the operation, maintenance and further development of the ministry’s system portfolio.

In the Development Unit you will become part of a professional environment with both internal staff and external consultants. We are centrally located in Copenhagen near Kongens Nytorv, and in daily work we place emphasis on both professional sparring, collaboration and an informal tone.

We offer great flexibility and good opportunities for professional development, including relevant continuing education and certifications.

With us you also have the opportunity to follow the solutions you develop over a longer period. You are not only involved in delivering them – you help own, drive and further develop them.
