About the job

Are you passionate about teaching and creating an inspiring learning environment where all students thrive and develop? If so, you are the person we are looking for at Gandrup School!

We are seeking a skilled and engaged colleague who can cover the following subjects and classes:

  • Danish: 6th and 7th grade
  • German: 6th and 8th grade
  • Social Studies: 8th grade

You will be an active part of the department's class team and the academic community, where we work closely together on students' academic and social well-being.

Structure and a child-centered approach – A safe framework for all

To create a safe, predictable and manageable school day, we work across the whole school based on a fixed and uniform lesson structure. This is achieved, among other things, through the consistent use of pictograms on the board and Time Timers , which give students a visual framework for the teaching.

Gandrup School is also certified UNICEF Rights School . This means that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and children's rights are a natural and integrated part of our foundation, culture and daily pedagogy. As a new colleague with us, we expect you to be passionate about actively involving the student’s voice , creating space for co-determination and ensuring that students feel heard, respected and as co-creators of their own school day.

General expectations

  • that you have subject specializations or equivalent competencies in Danish, German and Social Studies
  • that you work from the child-centered view “children do well if they can” and master differentiating your teaching so that all students are motivated and challenged
  • that you have relational competence and can engage in close, professional and constructive relationships with both students, parents, colleagues and cross-disciplinary collaborators
  • that you are a academically well-founded team player who thrives in a school in constant development, where sparring and professional learning communities are at the forefront

We offer

  • A exciting and academically well-founded workplace where you join a team of skilled, experienced and engaged colleagues who expect a professional and close collaboration with you
  • A workplace where employees with a systemic mindset continuously focus on reflection, analysis, possible hypotheses and problem-solving action plans, which are subsequently evaluated and adjusted
  • A workplace where employees meet the students in a space characterized by recognition and rights thinking
  • A workplace where employees with a curious approach continuously become wiser about how best to support each student's development
  • A workplace that operates from the child-centered view: “Children do well if they can”
  • A workplace where the leadership is active in relation to pedagogical development, guidance and sparring
  • A workplace where you are a meaningful adult who can “make a difference” – we are all mindful of the footprints we leave every day About Gandrup School
