About the job

In Nykøbing Sjælland, our new community house is located.

It is the gathering point for residents in Granhøjens Skæve Boliger and will be your primary base as an activities and socializing assistant.

Here, socializing can arise over a cup of coffee or around a shared meal. It can also be a bike that needs repairing, or some practical task that needs to be arranged together.

At other times, there is a need for you to take the initiative and start an activity together with the residents.

Your role is about creating life in the community house and opportunities for residents to participate in the community on their own terms.

The residents live separately – the community house provides the opportunity to meet

At Granhøjens Skæve Boliger, residents live in their own houses and apartments around Odsherred.

Most manage quite well on their own. Therefore our work rarely involves doing things for them. It is about supporting them to succeed themselves.

For many of our residents, it is difficult to live close to other people. Therefore they live in independent housing, where the support is based on the individual resident's situation and goals.

The community house also provides an opportunity to be part of a community.

Here residents can meet over a meal or an activity. They can also participate in the practical things that belong to everyday life.

The community house is also a professional base for the staff. Here we collaborate on the support the individual resident needs.

Your everyday life as an activities and socializing worker

You will have a special responsibility for everyday life in the community house.

This means that you will plan and carry out activities together with the residents and your colleagues. The activities should draw on what the residents themselves are interested in and would like to be a part of.

It can be cooking and shared meals. It can also be bike repairs or smaller maintenance tasks.

You should be able to turn an idea into something concrete and at the same time have an eye for how the residents themselves can contribute.

Not all residents necessarily come along by themselves. Some need support or motivation to participate. Therefore you must also work proactively and find out what can make participation possible for the individual.

The goal is not that everyone participates in the same way.

You should help create opportunities where the individual can contribute based on their own prerequisites.

You will also hold house meetings and involve the residents in developing what happens in the community house.

As part of your work, you will document relevant initiatives and agreements in our professional systems. The observations you make about residents' well-being and participation, you bring into the professional collaboration with your colleagues.

You will become part of a team where we help each other

Although you have a special responsibility for everyday life in the community house, you do not solve the task alone.

You collaborate with the other staff on the activities and on the support the individual resident needs.

You also contribute with what you see and experience in the community house so it can be brought into the shared professional work around the residents.

Is it you we're looking for?

Your professional background can vary.

You may have a pedagogical or social-work background. A health- or craft-related background can also be relevant.

What matters is that you can build relationships with people with different prerequisites and support them in participating without taking over.

You can translate ideas into something that can actually work in everyday life. And you can take the initiative when there is a need for someone to get something started.

If you have experience with people in social-psychiatric services or a similar target group, it is a plus.

You must be able to work from a recovery-oriented and rehabilitative approach. This means, among other things, that you start from the individual resident's resources and wishes and support opportunities for as much independence as possible.

You must also be able to document your work in relevant professional systems and be comfortable with IT at user level.

And you have a driving license (B).

What you get with us

With us you get colleagues who rely on each other.

That means you do not stand alone with difficult situations or professional dilemmas.

You also get the opportunity for internal courses and training so you can continue to develop your professional stance.

And you become part of a workplace where we are more focused on the person than on the diagnosis.

The position is 37 hours per week with rotating day and evening shifts. Weekend shifts are also included according to a fixed schedule.
