A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am 68 years old and was injured in a bicycle accident. In the accident I broke my neck and am therefore paralyzed from the neck and down.

That means I need help with almost everything – that is, help with personal care including bathing, toileting, moving in and out of bed and into a wheelchair, cooking, cleaning, etc.

I am connected to a respirator at night, which you will be trained thoroughly to handle, and I will also attend a course at the Respiration Center south. (OUH)

I am seeking a full-time helper for a fixed-term position from week 44 to week 49 2026. Subsequently a replacement on the team until February 2027, where there is a possibility of a permanent position at 37 hours per week.

As a person I am the quiet type who needs peace around me, but I also value good and deep conversations. In my professional life I have travelled a lot and lived abroad for a longer period.

Before the accident I lived on an old idyllic farm in Vejle Ådal. Unfortunately the old farmhouse is not suitable for my current needs, and therefore the plan is to build a new one so I can return to the farm.

The new farmhouse will be equipped to fit my needs, including good conditions for a disabled helper around the clock. Today I live temporarily in a disability-friendly housing centrally located in Egtved town.

I have always been very active – both in sports and in recent years especially cycling, but also in maintaining the farm and the surrounding nature areas.

The dream is to recover as much function as possible so that one day I can ride a tricycle again.

You will as a disability helper become part of a good, flexible and essential team of disability helpers who together cover all shifts year round.

The job takes place in the citizen's own home, for leisure activities, social events and the excursions the citizen would like to participate in.
