You treat me as one of your good friends, talk to me and with me . Throughout the day you tell me about all your exciting experiences since the last time and what you have experienced with family and friends throughout your life.

My name is Daniel, I am 43 years old, live a little outside Næstved and have cerebral palsy. I have a clear head and understand everything. I sit in an electric wheelchair, use facial expressions, gestures, sounds and a speech device for communication and SMS. You will be trained in my way of communicating. I use one contact to operate the speech device, so it takes time to talk to me. Therefore you also have wonderfully good patience and dare tell the world why it takes me long to communicate. And you support me so I can participate in conversations with others.

You are my arms and legs : when I am at work at Glad Design on Tuesday and Thursday, when I run Framerunning Monday afternoon, when I have to run with Team Twin Sunday morning, when I go to physiotherapist Wednesday and Friday morning, when I need to be taken to riding Monday afternoon and when I am at family birthday, concert, in the cinema, and much, much more.

You should also be able to join me on the weekend inJutland, be able to go on a one-week vacation e.g. week 29 or week 42. I also enjoy a trip to Friday Rock at Tivoli. So you are good at driving me home late.

Additionally you help with daily cleaning, cooking, watering pots and raised beds in the garden, shopping, etc.

You have a good used driving license and dare to drive in Copenhagen, can swing a floor mop, can vacuum, dust, wash clothes, shine shoes, transfer me from wheelchair to toilet chair, you can use an ear thermometer – if I am sick on rare occasions.

These are some examples, but to inform you that I need help with everything, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will receive the necessary training so you can handle the tasks on your own. The first 6 training days are divided into shorter shifts from 4 to 10 hours, as you receive a lot of new information.

I expect that you are prepared to help me 3-5 times per night , where I need to be turned, have the correct pillow, have something to drink, etc.

Although it sounds busy, it is certainly cozy and fun to work with me. Chemistry means a lot and I enjoy myself with my helpers.

My team shares all 365 shifts, of which you also take part in holidays and vacations etc.

You become part of a team where you collaborate on all the tasks I need help with throughout the day, week and month.

I have no fixed shifts (no fixed schedule). More on that at our first interview.

It is 24-hour shifts and the meeting time is from 22:00 to the next day 22:00.

The hourly wage is 158.27. In addition there are evening and night allowances and Saturday, Sunday & public holiday allowances. You can find the rates on DHO’s website.
