At Pindstrupskolen you will meet children and young people with quite different starting points, but one common denominator: they need adults who believe in their possibilities and who create the best framework for learning, well-being and development.

We are seeking a department head for our lower primary, after‑school care (SFO) and our new area for children with multiple disabilities. The position provides a special opportunity to help develop and shape an offering that will have great significance for children, families and staff alike.

You will become part of an experienced and closely collaborative management team consisting of a district manager, deputy headteacher and the department head for Pindstrup Børnehus. We believe that good leadership is created in a joint effort through dialogue, sparring and shared responsibility.

Who are we?

Pindstrupskolen is the Special School of Syddjurs Municipality with about 135 pupils and 80 staff.

We work with children and young people who, among other things, have

• autism spectrum disorders
• ADHD and attention difficulties
• learning difficulties
• social and emotional challenges
• multiple physical and cognitive disabilities

Pindstrupskolen and Pindstrup Børnehus together form a common district focused on creating the best development and participation opportunities for all children.

Your main tasks

You will be responsible for

• leading and developing staff
• setting the direction for the pedagogical practice in lower primary and SFO
• developing the provision for children with multiple disabilities
• supporting strong learning environments and child communities
• coordinating efforts around pupil absence
• following up on registrations concerning power and violence
• working closely with parents and external partners
• actively contributing to the school's overall development and leadership work

We are looking for someone who

• has experience in the special education field
• has interest in or experience with children with physical, mental and cognitive functional impairments
• has leadership experience or clear leadership potential
• communicates clearly and builds trust
• can create followership and lead development processes
• thrives in collaboration with staff, parents and colleagues

It is advantageous if you have knowledge of special pedagogical approaches such as Low Arousal, ASK, compensatory aids and a broad understanding of handicap.
