About the Nørregård Full-day Provision

The Nørregård Full-day Provision is a special class series organized as a full-day provision located in Brøndby Municipality. We accommodate students with autism spectrum disorders and complex developmental needs who are referred by Brøndby Municipality.

Our provision is built on a holistic and interdisciplinary approach, where the school and after-school parts are closely integrated. Each class consists of about 5-6 students, with a fixed interdisciplinary team of teachers, pedagogues, pedagogical assistants and helpers, in close cooperation with psychologists, speech-language pathologists, guidance counselors and occupational therapists from PPR.

We work from a range of special educational approaches and methods, including TEACCH-inspired structure and visual supports, Low Arousal and Intensive Interaction.

Our overarching goal is to strengthen the students’ well-being, quality of life, social skills and independence, so that they experience themselves as valuable participants in communities.

Your role and your tasks

As Department Head you will be part of Brøndbyøster School's overall management team and report to the campus principal.

You contribute to setting the direction for the department's special educational practice, spar with regarding complex student cases and support the use of the department's methods (TEACCH, Low Arousal, PECS etc.).

You lead and create followership in a strong interdisciplinary environment where well-being and professional sparring are in the foreground.

You collaborate professionally with PPR, Social Services and other external resource persons and emphasize open, acknowledging and trustful dialogue with parents and staff – also when everyday life is complex.

Who are you?

We expect that you are trained as a teacher, and we see it as a great advantage if you have further education within the field of special education or within leadership.

• Have in-depth knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and extensive special educational needs as well as experience with visualization, Low Arousal and alternative communication.
• Are a strong and present staff leader , capable of supporting and maintaining job satisfaction in a daily life that requires high emotional flexibility and overview.
• Have a view of the whole child and can set frameworks for an integrated school- and after-school life.
• Maintain calm and structure when unforeseen and complex situations arise.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and local pay agreement. All positions require criminal record check and child protection clearance upon hire.
