Head of School Department, 10th Grade Center Frederikshavn

Frederikshavn Municipality's Youth School is seeking an engaged and development-oriented department head for 10. Klassecenter Frederikshavn with a start date of 1 January 2027.

As a department head you will be part of the youth school’s overall management team. You will take responsibility for an important transition in the lives of the young, where they take the next steps toward education, employment and active participation in society.

About 10. Klassecenter Frederikshavn

10 Klassecenter Frederikshavn is a department under Frederikshavn Municipality's Youth School and is currently located at the Frederikshavn Education Center.

The center has about 90 students distributed across different lines and also houses the municipality’s language class for late-arriving youths. Everyday life is characterized by high academic standards, strong relationships and close cooperation with the local upper secondary schools and other partners.

We work purposefully to create the best conditions for all youths to find their path forward in education and life.

As a department head you will, among other things, be responsible for

• Leading and developing the 10. Klassecenter’s pedagogical and academic efforts
• Ensuring high quality in teaching and the learning and well-being of the youths
• Being an approachable leader for the staff and supporting their professional development
• Strengthening collaboration with upper secondary education, primary schools, industry and other partners
• Contributing to a healthy culture characterized by trust, community and responsibility

• Has experience in leadership within the school or educational sector
• Has strong relational skills and can create followership
• Sees opportunities rather than limitations and works in a solution-oriented manner
• Has an eye for both the individual youth and the importance of the community
• Communicates clearly and creates security through open dialogue

Second interview: 17 November 2026

Between the two interviews, a personality profile and case work will be conducted.
