Head of the Upper School at Karensmindeskolen

As we reorganize the management team, as of January 1 we are seeking a head of department in the upper grades.

Karensmindeskolen is divided into the early years, lower middle, and upper grades/10th grade, and as head of department you are responsible for operating and developing the department you lead and for helping to ensure the coherent thread through the whole school so that we as an organization work in the same direction and are a shared unit. You must be ambitious on your own and the community's behalf, so that together we can support our staff and create the best framework for all our students.

In the management team we are focused on further developing initiatives and teaching to create participation opportunities for all children in the work on Rebild Municipality's Vision 2030. We are well underway in developing team collaboration to be the core element in the pedagogical and academic work, to work with problem-based learning (PBL) and to use learning conversations and feedback in team collaboration. In addition we uphold Karensmindeskolen's proud traditions and activities during the school year and are happy to work creatively, practically and musically.

As head of the upper grades you will be the closest leader for our skilled and engaged teachers in the department. You and your staff should continue to develop the work with year-group teams and team collaboration, and to take the lead in network meetings and the follow-up work associated with this. You will have close cooperation with the department's coordinator.

In the upper grades you will furthermore have responsibility for

• Term tests and final examinations
• Junior Master Apprenticeship in collaboration with the school's coordinator
• A close collaboration with the upper grades' study hall (between forms).

You will experience a strong engagement from the parent group and a school board elected by parents, who are involved and work to do the best for the school and thus for all our students. We are glad for this and expect the same from you. Therefore it is essential that, as a leader, you are able to create space for a safe and honest dialogue with parents.

Your profile

• You are a trained teacher, have leadership experience and a leadership qualification at diploma level or similar
• You place collaboration in the management team and administration high on the agenda with a view to a unified school and a common direction
• You prioritize pedagogical development and well-being among staff and students highly
• You can navigate a busy and complex everyday life, where you often encounter unforeseen tasks while also handling administrative duties and being a leadership "close at hand"
• You are clear and open in your communication both internally and externally
• You have an overview and are good at following cases through to the end

As head of department in Rebild Municipality you are not only part of your local management team. As a small municipality, we strive to maintain close collaboration across the schools. You can therefore expect to get to know your leadership colleagues at the other schools and to participate in various external meetings.

Karensmindeskolen is located in Støvring near the E45 and easily accessible from both the south and the north directions.
