About the job

Health-care professional instructor for SOSU Syd

Do you want to use your health-care professional experience to develop competencies among employees in the health-care system of the future?

Are you a nurse or a social- and health care assistant, and do you have experience from the municipal and/or psychiatric sector and solid experience with people with dementia? Then it might be you we are looking for as our new colleague.

Become part of our learning community

Team SOSU is seeking a health-care professional instructor for our learning community within continuing education. We plan, implement and develop education for both skilled and non-skilled staff within the welfare sector.

As an instructor you will be part of a professionally strong team of 23 dedicated instructors. We have high ambitions for both the professional and didactic quality. We work close to practice, and we use simulation and technology as a natural part of the teaching.

We are organized into four professional learning communities, where we collaborate on learning, development and quality. We believe that we become better when we share our knowledge, challenge each other and develop our teaching together.

With us you also get substantial influence over your teaching. You plan and implement your teaching programs independently, with opportunities for sparring and support from your colleagues.

What will you work with?

As an instructor in continuing education you must translate your health-care experience and practical knowledge into learning that makes sense for the participants and can be used directly in their daily work.

You will, among other things, be responsible for

  • planning, conducting and evaluating teaching for a broad target group
  • teaching both skilled and non-skilled staff
  • linking theory and practice and creating teaching close to the participants’ everyday life
  • applying simulation and digital technologies as part of the teaching
  • helping to develop our education and teaching methods
  • collaborating with colleagues on professional and didactic development
  • teaching both at the school and out in practice. Therefore, travel may occur.

You do not need to know everything from the start. The most important thing is that you want to develop yourself as a teacher and are curious about new ways to create learning.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • are educated as a nurse or a social- and health care assistant
  • have at least five years of broad professional experience
  • have solid experience with people with dementia
  • have relevant experience from the municipal and/or psychiatric sector
  • have updated health-care knowledge and can translate your practical experience into engaging teaching
  • are keen to teach participants with different ages, experiences and professional prerequisites
  • have a positive and engaged approach to your tasks
  • are motivated by creating learning and by professional collaboration with your colleagues
  • wish to work within the municipal and psychiatric area and are willing to try new methods
  • have an IT flair and are eager to use digital technologies in teaching
  • either have or are willing to undertake a vocational pedagogical diploma education.

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.

With us you get

  • a exciting and varied daily life with a lot of independence
  • opportunity to influence the professional, didactic and pedagogical direction of teaching
  • a professionally strong team where we share knowledge and help each other
  • opportunity to develop your competencies as an instructor
  • a workplace with room for humor, diversity and professional curiosity
  • opportunity for flexibility in planning the work, including work from home when the task allows
  • the tasks may be unevenly distributed over the year, and there may be a need for flexible scheduling
  • a workplace where community and physical presence are still valued highly.
