About the job
At the Study Board for Psychology there are a number of instructor positions available on the bachelor programme as of 1 January 2027.
There are approximately 20 temporary appointments (one semester) and about 5 permanent appointments (the employment relationship ends upon completion of the degree). The final number of positions opened will depend on which subjects are established. In your application you should indicate which type of employment you prefer. If a permanent position is preferred, please also indicate whether you are interested in a temporary position if we cannot offer you a permanent appointment.
The positions are available within the following subjects/teams
Personality Psychology, practice group
The course comprises 2 hours of teaching for 7 weeks (even weeks) in a semester. In the practice group, instructors are to lead the execution of predetermined empirical studies as well as instruct and approve practice reports. It will be considered an advantage, but not an absolute condition, if the bachelor’s degree has been passed, and if personality psychology has been passed at the Department of Psychology.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Simo Køppe, [email protected] or the subject coordinator Tone Roald, [email protected]
Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology, practice group
The course comprises 2 hours of teaching for 7 weeks (odd weeks) in a semester. The instructors’ task is to facilitate work in the practice groups, where the instructors lead the execution of predetermined exercises as well as coordinate group-based student presentations within topics introduced in the syllabus and through the lecture series. It will be considered an advantage, but not an absolute condition, if the bachelor’s degree has been passed, and if the subjects “Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology” and “Cognitive Psychology” have been passed at the Department of Psychology.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Ro Julia Robotham, [email protected]
Developmental Psychology, practice group/ Developmental Psychology Practical Instructors
Practical instructors undertake 3 hours of weekly teaching for 6 weeks within the spring semester (specific weeks to be confirmed). Each instructor will be assigned to teams and will lead classes on practical methods within developmental psychology, including experimental methods, observational methods and interviews.
A close alignment with the lectures and seminar classes is expected and so it is expected that practical instructors will coordinate with other teachers within the developmental psychology teaching group and familiarize themselves with the lecture content that relates to a particular practical class. In addition to teaching the practical classes, the instructors must participate in coordination meetings with the other instructors and with the rest of the teaching group.
It is a condition of employment that the BA program has been successfully completed. Instructors willing to take 2 teams per week will be prioritized.
Further information is available by contacting the subject coordinator Victoria Helen Southgate, [email protected]
Clinical Psychology II, practice group
The course comprises 2 hours of teaching for 7 weeks distributed over the semester. The instructors’ task is to facilitate work in the practice groups, where the instructors lead the execution of predetermined exercises based on the syllabus, lectures plus cases provided by the instructors, as well as coordination of group-based student presentations within topics introduced in the syllabus and through the lecture series. The work also includes marking two short response papers.
It will be considered an advantage, but not an absolute condition, if the bachelor’s degree has been passed, and if Clinical Psychology has been passed at the Department of Psychology.
Further information can be obtained by contacting the subject coordinator Sonja Breinholst, [email protected]
Educational Psychology, practice group
The course comprises 2 hours of teaching 10 times over a semester. The instructors’ task is, in collaboration with the subject’s coordinator and the lecturers, to lead the group instruction which primarily includes cases/exercises of both quantitative and qualitative nature. In the practice groups the different theoretical orientations and methods are treated through various applied activities.
Emphasis will be on educational psychology as an applied subject, so the focus will be that the lecture series provides the students with broad theoretical insight, while the practice group focuses on ensuring that students gain a fundamental understanding of how to apply method and theory in practice. The starting point will be group-based work with cases, through which students are introduced to different intervention and practice forms.
The activity requirement consists of one written submission, corrected by the instructors, and one oral submission that is presented to the teaching, where feedback is given by the instructor and the group .
Further information is available by contacting the subject coordinator Guido Makransky, [email protected]
Salary and terms of employment
The salary for an instructor is agreed between the Ministry of Finance and SUL. The hourly wage amounts to DKK 257.72 (April 2026 level), excluding holiday pay and pension . In addition to teaching hours, there is separate payment for approval of reports, response papers, etc., as well as supervision equivalent to 1 hour per week with the subject coordinator. In addition, participation in pedagogical teaching courses of various kinds is paid.
The positions can be applied for by students at the Department of Psychology or equivalent, who have completed two relevant years of work and who are enrolled in a teaching program during the teaching period. See further the requirements under the individual course descriptions in this posting. For all positions, teaching experience is advantageous but not a condition. Other relevant experience for the subject, such as experience with research or research methods, may be weighted.
