About the job

Are you a specially trained intensive care nurse, and do you want to work in a department with high professional standards, a strong collegial community and good opportunities for development? Then you now have the opportunity to become part of Intensive Treatment at Herlev Hospital.

We are a general intensive care department that provides care and treatment for both medical and surgical patients with a need for intensive therapy. Here you will encounter both acute and complex patient pathways, where advanced intensive treatment goes hand in hand with patient-centered nursing and care for patients and relatives.

What can we offer you?

With us you will become part of an experienced and engaged team where collaboration, professional sparring and respect for each other’s competencies forms the basis of everyday life.

We offer an individually tailored introduction program, so you get the best possible prerequisites to settle well into the department and learn our workflows and specialties.

We prioritize patient-centered nursing highly and create the framework for you to develop and apply your competencies in clinical practice. Through planned teaching, scenario-based training and ongoing competence development you will have the opportunity to strengthen your professional skills and stay up to date within intensive care nursing.

You will have influence over your shift schedule, because we want to support a good balance between work life and private life. At the same time, there is professional leadership present around the clock through our experienced group of on-duty nurses.

We also offer opportunities to participate in mono- and interprofessional work groups, teaching of trainees in the specialist training in intensive care nursing as well as participating in the education of future colleagues. If you are interested in further education, research or development projects, we will support this.

Who are we?

We are proud of our strong professional environment, where presence, care and high quality in patient treatment go hand in hand with professional development and close collegial collaboration. With us it is natural to seek sparring, share knowledge and actively contribute to the development of intensive nursing.

We work evidence-based and prioritize research, education and competence development. At the same time we nurture an appreciative work culture, where we help each other, take shared responsibility and see interdisciplinary collaboration as a prerequisite for the best patient pathways.

Intensive Treatment is located in new, modern facilities and consists of 12 beds spread across three teams with varying degrees of intensive treatment and monitoring. The department hosts a strong multidisciplinary environment with intensive care nurses, intensivists and other specialized professional groups.

Education, simulation training and research are an integrated part of everyday life, and we actively participate in development and research projects focusing on strengthening both clinical practice and patient care.

Who are you?

You are a specially trained intensive care nurse and are motivated to deliver nursing of high professional quality to patients in complex and often critical pathways.

At the same time, you actively contribute to the community, take responsibility for professional development and value the interprofessional collaboration around the patient.
