About the job

Right now the research world is facing an exciting shift with increased use of AI and greater digitalization. This means information security and data governance are more important than ever. Are you technically savvy, structured and motivated to support a field with significant societal importance? We are looking for a proactive IT security specialist who wants to help build a robust and future-proof digital foundation for our research. Here you get the chance to help define how we work in IT security in a complex knowledge organization.

Your daily life The Secretariat at the National Research Centre for Working Environment (NFA) consists of about 12 employees. We solve tasks within IT, AI, law and operations.

As an IT security employee you will contribute to supporting IT security in general at NFA and in the research projects, as well as contribute to the work with among others ISO27001, GDPR compliance and technical minimum requirements for IT security. We continuously work on updating our system support and with the documentation of our security and maturity level. In addition, you have a central role in the use of AI, which has high strategic priority.

You will both work hands-on with concrete IT security tasks and coordinate the IT security effort across the organization. You will become the link between the central IT operations, users (administration and researchers), management and any external partners – with focus on prevention, overview and compliance of applicable information security and data protection requirements.

Your main tasks will be

  • Coordinate and further develop the institution's work with information security, including policies, documentation and contingency plans.
  • Prepare risk/security assessments of software and systems and contribute to compliance with ISO 27001, AI and GDPR in collaboration with lawyers and management.
  • Participate in relevant audits, reviews and documentation processes.
  • Identify and assess IT security risks, and follow up on controls and security measures.
  • Handle security incidents, deviations and awareness activities.
  • Coordinate and be responsible for awareness and training efforts for employees and management.
  • Support researchers in secure handling of research data and ensure storage solutions in their research projects.
  • Act as IT project lead for example digitization initiatives or new system implementation.
  • Support daily IT operations and helpdesk.

The work in the Secretariat You will join a team of 8 employees who work with IT, AI, GDPR and information security, supporting the subject areas at NFA. You will have a large professional responsibility within IT operations, IT security and GDPR and good opportunities to develop yourself.

You will report to the head of the secretariat, and work closely with our two other administrative functions Finance and HR and the Management Secretariat and our research areas. We have a good professional and social environment in the Secretariat.

Become our new colleague We imagine that you have an academic education in IT, but you may also have another background and preferably experience with IT.

We need a colleague who

  • has experience with information security and AI, e.g. as IT coordinator, IT security consultant or similar positions.
  • has knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 42001, AI Act, NIS2, CER, GDPR and risk management – and can translate it into practice.
  • is structured and communicates clearly both in writing and verbally.
  • has technical understanding – you do not need to know everything yourself, but you must be able to ask the right questions.

In addition we would like you to have experience with

  • public sector, research or higher education - an advantage, not a requirement.
  • Technical insight, understanding or flair for e.g. R, Python, Linux.

We expect you as a person to be adaptable, proactive and able to independently drive and develop the area. Your tasks will often need to be solved in close collaboration with others across disciplines, so it is important that your collaboration skills are good.

In return we promise an informal and professionally strong working environment with skilled colleagues, good working conditions and flexibility.

Salary and employment terms The position is a permanent full-time role. We would like you to start as soon as possible and no later than February 1, 2027.

You will be employed as a senior consultant or chief consultant depending on experience under the Collective Agreement for Academics in the State. If you are not an academic, you will be employed as an IT worker under the OAO-S joint agreement, the organizational agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK) in the service of the state.

Your daily workplace is the National Research Centre for Working Environment, Lersø Parkallé 105, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.

Questions and application Didn’t get answers to all your questions? Then you are welcome to contact the Secretary General Tine Brøchner at tel. 2467 2055.

If you have questions about salary and terms of employment, you are welcome to contact senior consultant Maiken Bastholm in the Ministry of Employment and Equality HR at tel. no.: 2147 0742.

We view diversity as a strength and encourage all interested applicants regardless of personal background to apply for the position.

Send your motivated CV and your exam papers electronically by Tuesday 24 November 2026. You do not need to send a classic motivated application, but include in your CV what your motivation is for applying for the position, and why you fit the role.

We expect to hold interviews in weeks 49 and 50.

We look forward to reading your application.
