Surgical Department seeks specialist

We are seeking a specialist surgeon. Start date by agreement.

Surgical Department

We perform the surgical tasks at the hospital in close collaboration with the hospital's other specialties. The department consists of a modern endoscopy unit with an ERCP room, an operating corridor with a high-tech laparoscopic suite, a robot room and an emergency room, outpatient clinic, plastic surgery function, as well as an upper and lower inpatient ward with a total of 28 permanent beds.

The department handles acute surgery, trauma surgery, colorectal surgery, upper benign gastrointestinal surgery, including gallbladder and hernia surgery, endoscopy, as well as plastic surgery. In addition, we receive and treat acute surgical patients in FAM. We have extensive endoscopic and operative activity and perform annually about 200 inguinal hernia operations, 150 ventral hernia operations, about 250 ERCPs, 250 colorectal operations, 400 anal operations and around 9000 endoscopies.

The department focuses on delivering quality for patients with a good working environment as its starting point. We will ensure efficient operation and not least anchor research and innovation.

The clinics participate in student teaching at several levels. In addition, the clinics handle the postgraduate continuing education of KBU doctors, I doctors in surgery and acute medicine, HU doctors in general practice, gynecology, acute medicine and surgery.

The department is deliberately working on integrating present and future technological solutions.

Your profile

• You are a specialist in surgery
• You have great experience in assessing acute surgical patients
• You have routine in acute surgical procedures and can participate in all acute on-call work
• You are experienced with upper benign surgery
• You master upper and lower endoscopic procedures
• You are familiar with HosInfo at administrator level
• You are active in research within the biliary tract
• You must be prepared to become certified as a robot surgeon

Salary and terms of employment

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base pay, centrally fixed allowances and pension in the collective agreement for Junior doctors – collective agreement 33.06.1 – salary as of 1.4.2026.
