About the job
Do you dream of optimizing patients' medication at the transition from hospital to their own home, a nursing home or a temporary stay? Then become a clinical pharmaconomist at Amager and Hvidovre Hospital.
Our expertise in safe medication management is in demand, and therefore we are hiring several pharmaconomists for 1-year temporary positions who are passionate about working closely with patients with a full focus on quality and development. You will have both Amager and Hvidovre Hospital as your place of service, but your primary workplace will be Hvidovre Hospital.
It is a clear advantage if you have experience from a clinical everyday life, but this is not a prerequisite, as we offer a thorough training program tailored to you, with a assigned mentor and a daily partner. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity for sparring with all the unit's pharmaconomists and pharmacists. During your training you will not be independently involved in operations.
With the health reform taking effect, the region gains authority for many of the tasks that today lie with the municipalities. For us, this means new and exciting tasks that we will set the framework for together with the hospital. If you want to help develop clinical pharmacy, become a part of our department.
In medication management you will be responsible for dispensing and administering medicines to hospitalized patients. In the transition between sectors you ensure they take the correct medicine home and you convey knowledge about the medicines to the patients and/or their relatives. You pay attention to dosing, frequency, tapering plan, start and end dates, interactions, blood pressure, blood tests, allergies, contraindications and other relevant aspects of the pharmacological treatment and you contact a doctor or nurse for interventions.
You document in the Sundhedsplatformen and the Common Medicine Card (FMK).
In medication service you are responsible for ensuring that the departments have the right medicines available for their patients, with a strong focus on patient safety, optimal medicine economy and inventory management. You assist with repurposing and stock-out issues. You advise and answer questions about medicines and, if needed, train clinical staff.
In the job with us you will need your pharmacological knowledge and your communication skills. With your professional background in medicines, you will become a resource person for the departments.
We offer an exciting and versatile job with many points of contact, engaged and professionally skilled colleagues, and a strong professional community that prioritizes collaboration. In addition to a strong professional community, we also have a strong social community with a culture club and ongoing social events.
We work purposefully with well-being, a quality-conscious work environment characterized by engagement, supportive and helpful colleagues who look forward to welcoming you, and accessible management with easy access to sparring. We have a flexible working arrangement that allows you to create balance in your daily life, paid lunch, a good pension scheme, an arts association and a sports association at the hospital at reasonable prices.
We are looking for pharmaconomists who are solution- and service-oriented, see the excitement in a changing daily life at a hospital, have good collaboration skills and create job satisfaction. You enjoy working with people and meet patients with openness and respect for different life situations and needs. You must be prepared to engage in professional dialogue with doctors and other health professionals.
We have a dynamic daily routine, where tasks change continuously according to the departments' and patients' needs, and therefore it is essential that you thrive with changes and flexibility.
At Amager and Hvidovre Hospital we are a unit comprised of 50 colleagues, including pharmaconomists and pharmacists, who service the hospital. In early 2026, the integration of somatic care and psychiatry began, and Amager and Hvidovre Hospital have thus become connected with
Psychiatric Center Amager, Psychiatric Center Glostrup and Saint Hans, all of which have their own clinical pharmacy units.
