About the job

Do you have ambitions to develop both leaders, the organization and technology? As Chief of Infrastructure and Operations you will have a central role in setting the direction for the region's digital infrastructure and creating coherence between secure operations, technological development and future needs in healthcare.

You will lead a large and complex office with six area managers and around 130 employees. Here, your main task will be to set direction, prioritize and develop the organization so that strong professional environments and leaders have the best conditions to succeed. You must be able to support and challenge your leaders, create buy-in and make clear decisions when different considerations and interests must be balanced.

Infrastructure and Operations is closely linked to almost all parts of Digitalisation and IT. Therefore you will also play an important role in the joint priorities and in the development of the organization as a whole. You must therefore be able to bring the office's perspectives into joint decisions in close collaboration with your fellow chiefs and the IT Director and help shape the joint priorities – and at the same time translate joint decisions into concrete action in Infrastructure and Operations.

It requires that you can navigate many considerations and interests in our politically governed organization, and build good collaborations across professional disciplines, management levels and organizational boundaries.

You will thus obtain a chief role where you must both ensure that daily operations run smoothly and set the direction for the future digital foundation. New technologies, increasing demands for security and resilience and the changes in healthcare call for a chief who can lift the view, see opportunities and translate strategic ambitions into action – without losing control of daily operations that must be secure and stable.

Foundation for Region Central Denmark's digital solutions

Infrastructure and Operations across the six areas are responsible for a large part of the technical foundation under Region Central Denmark's digital solutions. The office's areas are:

  • Server Storage
  • Network
  • Clients
  • Applications
  • Operational security and user access
  • Planning and coordination.

As chief you will have overall responsibility for the office's operations, economy, resources and leadership. You lead through the area managers and must set clear direction for the office, prioritize across and ensure coherence between the areas.

You must among other things

  • ensure stable, secure and robust operations
  • set direction for the development of the infrastructure
  • prioritize across operations, development, economy, capacity and risks
  • develop the management team and support the area managers' management space
  • ensure coherence across the office's areas and deliveries
  • contribute to shared priorities and solutions across Digitalisation and IT
  • strengthen collaboration with the rest of the region, suppliers and other partners
  • have strategic outlook and flair for utilizing new opportunities in both technological development and the changes that the health reform entails

A central role in the region's emergency preparedness

As chief you also have a central role in the region's emergency preparedness. When major operational disruptions or critical incidents occur, you must be able to maintain an overview, assemble the right people and ensure clear coordination and decision-making power. This means you must be reachable and able to step in during critical operational disruptions (Major Incidents) – also outside normal working hours.

The task also involves being proactive – having an eye for risks, dependencies and vulnerabilities and helping translate experiences from incidents into concrete improvements in operations, processes and collaboration.

Who are you?

You are an experienced leader of leaders within IT operations and have a solid understanding of the complexity that comes with it. We also place emphasis on the following:

  • you are an approachable, trustworthy and accessible leader
  • you dare to be clear and make credible decisions
  • you can develop other leaders and give them a clear responsibility and leadership space
  • you are curious, listening and open to other perspectives
  • you can bring together different professional disciplines and interests around a common direction
  • you communicate clearly and credibly and can create strong relationships across
  • you can create calm, clarity and buy-in – even when pressure is high

An organization in development

Digitalisation and IT is one of the country's largest digitalisation and IT organizations in healthcare, with nearly 700 employees. We work to make it better to be a citizen and patient and easier to be employed – and together with our partners we develop and operate digital solutions that support a coherent, sustainable and future-proof health system.
