About the job

Do you want to contribute to securing international labor in Denmark?

Are you a leader who can balance professional operations management with hands-on personnel leadership in an area with significant political attention? As our new Office Manager for the Quota Office, you will have an absolutely key role in ensuring the Danish labor market quick and effective access to international labor under proper terms. If you are driven by high quality in case processing and efficient operations, now is the time to seize the opportunity and apply!

Your new workplace

SIRI is a central part of the immigration area and works to support international recruitment and integration in Denmark. We handle tasks of great political and societal importance and are simultaneously an organization in constant development, where digitization, efficiency, and high professional quality are essential.

In SIRI we process applications for residence and work permits for foreigners from all over the world who want

to work or study in Denmark. We ensure EU citizens easy and rapid access to Denmark on proper terms, advise municipalities on integration and prevention, and prepare tests in Danish and knowledge about Denmark.

We are about 500 employees distributed across the country with locations in Valby, Odense, Aarhus, Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sønderborg and Nuuk.

Your role as Office Manager in the Quota

The Quota Office handles applications from third-country nationals for residence and work permits under the quota scheme and the supplementary quota scheme, including accompanying family. The schemes are part of SIRI’s business schemes and provide the opportunity for residence and work permits in Denmark based on a job offer where pay and terms meet the set requirements.

You will have overall responsibility for running an office where efficient case processing and high legal quality go hand in hand.

You will have personnel responsibility for about 35 employees, including a deputy Head and a number of team coordinators. The majority of employees have an academic educational background, but there are also experienced office clerks in the office.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Ensure stable operations and target achievement in a daily life with high case volumes and political attention
  • Quality-assure case processing and optimize processes , so we work efficiently while ensuring high quality in the decisions
  • Join the agency’s overall leadership group and contribute to strategic development across SIRI, preferably with a view to digital development.

About you

You have a relevant academic degree, e.g., cand. jur. or another social science education. We would like you to have solid experience with operations and people management, preferably from the state or another complex public organization. It would be an advantage if you have experience with hybrid and remote leadership, as many employees work from home up to two days a week.

We imagine you will succeed in the role if you recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • Professionally strong leader with a flair for people management . You are driven by the balance between sparring on complex professional issues and ensuring daily well-being, motivation and development of your employees.
  • Bridge-builder with a view to cross-functional collaboration . You naturally operate in the tension between your own office, the overall leadership group and the management. You see the value in lifting together and actively contribute to a strong and coordinated collaboration across the organization.
  • Development-oriented leader in a knowledge organization . You focus on process optimization and quality assurance. You can translate strategic goals into concrete development tasks that ensure both efficient and correct case processing and strengthen SIRI’s position as a knowledge organization.
  • Guarantee for balance between quality and operations . You have a sharp sense for case production, deadlines and efficiency, but you do not compromise on professional quality. You understand navigating in an environment with high production demands without losing sight of legal and professional standards.
  • Analytical thinker with a sense of the big picture . You lift your gaze from daily operations and see the office in a larger societal and organizational context. You translate data, trends and experiences from case processing into valuable input and directions for the organization’s forward-looking direction.

You are a leader with a sense of the common good

In the Ministry of Immigration and Integration we operate from a common leadership framework that provides direction and coherence in our leadership practices across the Group. We lead based on four themes: task leadership, cross-cutting leadership, learning leadership, and people leadership.

Our leadership is based on clear direction and prioritization, professionalism, knowledge sharing and collaboration across the organization, as well as a persistent ambition to develop our employees – both professionally and personally.

Therefore it is important that you can see yourself in our four leadership themes. You have a holistic view, take responsibility for shared solutions and are aware of how you influence collaboration, motivation and well-being – both in your own agency and in our overall group.

With us you get

An approachable leadership team that prioritizes collaboration and development. You will have the opportunity to work flexibly and will be involved in and have influence on decisions in SIRI. We place great emphasis on leadership well-being and a good working environment.

In SIRI we have our strategy and core tasks in mind and have formulated a strategy house that describes our vision and mission as well as the foundation for our way of working. You can read more about us, our strategy and our various offices here.

Moreover, digitization is an important part of our everyday life. We are working with new technological possibilities e.g. AI to strengthen effective and secure task handling and create value for citizens, businesses and employees.
