About the job

Are you passionate about quality, citizen/patient safety, and improvements? Can you translate requirements, data, and professional knowledge into solutions that make sense in practice? And are you eager to help build the quality work in a new health department?

Then you might be our new Quality Coordinator.

Citizens-Driven Health

Citizens-Driven Health is a new department at South Jutland Hospital, currently consisting of two department heads and a smaller staff. It was established on 1 April 2026 as part of the implementation of the Health Reform. The department will from 1 January 2027 take on responsibility for Acute Nursing, as well as Health and Care Facilities in South Jutland. The main place of work is South Jutland Hospital, Aabenraa, and there will be meeting activities and work days at the department’s premises in the four municipalities of South Jutland.

About the position

As Quality Coordinator you will play a central role in supporting the department management and local management in the work with quality, citizen-/patient safety and improvements.

You will become part of a new department where much needs to be built and developed. This means you will have the opportunity to help create structures and workflows for quality work and at the same time support daily practice.

You must be able to move between the strategic and the practice-oriented. You must be able to advise management on quality and development, analyze and communicate data, translate national and regional requirements into local practice and at the same time be close to the leaders and employees who must make the solutions work in everyday life.

An important part of the role will be to support a strong quality and citizen-/patient safety culture, where data, audits and professional knowledge are used for learning and improvement.

The tasks will develop as Citizens-Driven Health is established and gains new areas of responsibility. Therefore, you must thrive in a daily life where not everything is predetermined in advance, and where you both must be able to take on new tasks and help shape the solutions yourself.

Your tasks will include

  • Advise and support the department management and local management in the work with quality, citizen-/patient safety and improvements.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining a strong quality and citizen-/patient safety culture.
  • Plan, carry out and follow up on audits and other quality monitoring.
  • Analyze, follow up on and communicate relevant quality data.
  • Translate data and knowledge into concrete improvements in practice.
  • Translate national and regional requirements, goals and standards into local workflows and solutions.
  • Plan, coordinate and drive quality and improvement projects.
  • Support the implementation and retention of new workflows and initiatives.
  • Apply the principles from the Southern Danish Improvement Model in the work with quality, citizen-/patient safety and user involvement.
  • Prepare instructions, guidelines and tools that support quality in practice.
  • Teach and disseminate knowledge about, among other things, quality, citizen-/patient safety, hygiene and relevant standards.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops and development processes according to the Southern Danish Improvement Model.
  • Contribute to collaboration across the department, South Jutland Hospital, the region and relevant external partners.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who combines professional depth with a drive to get things done.

You can provide an overview in complex problems, but you do not lose sight of the reality in which the solutions must operate. You can work independently, but you also know when a task should be solved with others.

We envision that you

  • Have a professional bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Have experience with quality, development or improvement work in healthcare.
  • Have strong analytical skills and can translate data and knowledge into concrete actions.
  • Understand the organization of the healthcare system and can navigate a politically governed organization.
  • Have good collaboration and relationship-building skills and can create engagement around quality and improvement work.
  • Have good communication and pedagogical skills and can convey complex topics in a simple and understandable way.
  • Be able to work in a structured and independent manner while ensuring progress in your tasks.
  • Have experience with or an interest in project, process and implementation work.
  • Have strong IT skills, preferably with experience in Excel, Acadre and SharePoint.

It is an advantage if you have a relevant candidate or master’s degree . The most important thing is that you want to help develop quality work in a new department and can see opportunities when the framework is not yet fully in place.

We offer

You will have an exciting and versatile job with great opportunities to influence both tasks and solutions.

You will also have a unique opportunity to be involved from the start and contribute to building Citizens-Driven Health. Together with the department management and your colleagues, you will have the opportunity to shape how the new department is organized and developed.

We offer a close and trusting collaboration with the department management in a positive, development-oriented and engaged work environment.

Salary and employment terms

The position is 30-32 hours per week and expected to be filled on 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally determined allowances and pension in the collective agreement for the Health Cartel (32.17.1).

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications. See starting salary for positions in the Region of Southern Denmark.

We are a flexible workplace where we emphasize a good balance between work life and leisure. There is therefore the possibility of flexible working hours and home-office days to a lesser extent when tasks permit.
