At the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Institute of Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, KU, we want to fill two positions as laboratory technician apprentices. Both a position from February 1, 2027 to December 31, 2027 as well as a position from September 1, 2027 to July 31, 2028. The positions are for 11 months and are training positions, and termination of employment is not expected after completion of the training.

The laboratory serves the University Hospital for Small Animals in Frederiksberg, the University Hospital for Large Animals in Taastrup, as well as veterinary clinics and zoos from across the country and the rest of Scandinavia. In addition, the laboratory has a strong research profile, where we perform analyses for specialization and Ph.D. students (primarily veterinarians), industry associations, and pharmaceutical companies.

The work consists of analyzing blood, urine, and feces from various animal species, involving both manual skills and equipment operation.

The training includes

• Sample preparation (registration, preparation for analysis)
• Clinical biochemistry analysis, based on automatic spectrophotometry and integrated multisensor technology
• Immunological analysis, based on automated ELISA
• Hematological analysis, based on flow cytometry
• Hemostasis/Coagulation analyses, based on clotting tests and spectrophotometry
• Manual sample preparation and microscopic examination of feces, urine, blood, and other body fluids.
• Quality assurance
• Use of Laboratory Information System (LIS)

Qualifications

You must have passed the theoretical part of the laboratory technician education no later than at the start.

Salary and employment terms

The positions are filled in accordance with the applicable joint agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organization – The State Sector (OAO) and the collective agreement for laboratory technicians concluded between the Ministry of Finance and HK/STAT.
