About the Eastern High Court

The Eastern High Court is one of the country’s two High Courts and handles both civil and criminal cases. We are about 170 employees distributed between judges, administrative staff and service officers, who every day work to ensure the rule of law and a well-functioning constitutional state.

We are based in a modern and bright building in Nordhavn – with a view of the water and only a three-minute walk from the metro.

About the position

When you become part of the Eastern High Court, you enter a large house with many specialties. You start in one section, but in time you may have the opportunity to work with other types of cases and tasks in other sections. This provides both variety in everyday life and good development opportunities.

After a thorough introduction you will be attached to a section, where you will, among other things, work with:

  • Administrative preparation, setting and closing of civil cases and criminal cases
  • CLOSE collaboration with other legal assistants and judges
  • Practical tasks in connection with court hearings and main proceedings

No day is exactly the same, and you will be close to the cases from start to finish.

Your tasks may include

  • Preparation and scheduling of civil cases and criminal cases
  • Drafting of draft decisions
  • Distribution of case material and deadline management
  • Dispatching decisions to the parties
  • Practical tasks related to the conduct of cases in the courtroom

In addition you will to a lesser extent participate in official travels to the court’s satellite sites in Odense and Nykøbing Falster .

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Have a relevant office or administrative education
  • Have strong Danish language skills – both written and spoken
  • Thrive with responsibility, keeping an overview and working in a structured way
  • Have good collaboration skills and a positive mindset
  • Would like to provide good service and create value for our users
  • Have good IT skills
  • Have a driver’s license for a passenger car

Experience from the courts or as a secretary to a lawyer is an advantage, but not a requirement. You will receive thorough training, and we will ensure that you integrate well into both the professional environment and the systems.

What do you get with us?

We offer you

  • A full-time position (37 hours) with flexible working hours
  • A working environment with high well-being, professional sparring and good colleagues
  • A daily life where you can see the results of your work and feel that it makes a difference
