About the job

Do you want to help create visibility, engagement and strong cultural experiences at the library?

We work purposefully to strengthen the library's role as a visible and relevant cultural institution that creates value for both current and new users. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who will help translate the library's offerings, activities and stories into engaging experiences and targeted communication that reaches wide and fosters participation.

You will help develop and strengthen the library's events area with a focus on relevant, inspiring and audience-engaging events. At the same time you will take on a central role in the work with the library's overall communication and visibility. An important task will be to attract new target groups and strengthen the library's brand through targeted communication and audience development, while building on the relationship with the users we already have.

We are looking for a profile with insight into target groups' needs, behavior and motivation, and who can translate this knowledge into events, outreach and communication with clear impact. You will work strategically with visibility and reach and can create coherence between the library's physical and digital offerings. You think content across channels and can translate a good initiative into communication, outreach and activities that engage different target groups.

As part of the library's outreach work you will join a cross-functional working group responsible for coordinating and developing the library's overall physical and digital outreach. Here you are expected to contribute strong professional perspectives and take a driving role in developing new approaches, formats and initiatives that strengthen the library's visibility and relevance.

You are motivated to develop and implement events that create relevant and inspiring encounters between citizens, literature, culture and knowledge. You thrive in facilitating, moderating and creating great audience experiences and naturally engage in collaborations with colleagues, cultural actors, associations and other partners. You will become part of a working group that together develops the library's events, outreach and audience initiatives for adults.

Based on literature and reading you inspire new reading experiences through strong hospitality and engaging outreach - both in the physical library and across our platforms. You participate in the daily library operations and meet citizens with diverse needs and interests, which requires you to thrive in a role where service and outreach are as important as development work. In this way you contribute to creating a library that is experienced as open, relevant and welcoming to all residents of the municipality.

You will among other things work with

  • Development and execution of events that create relevant encounters between citizens, literature, culture and knowledge
  • Communication and outreach that strengthen the library's visibility and reach
  • Audience development focusing on both new and existing target groups
  • Development of coherent content and outreach initiatives across physical and digital platforms
  • Collaboration with colleagues, cultural actors and external partners on activities and projects
  • Outreach, hospitality and citizen service as part of the library's daily operations

The role requires that you can move between strategy and practice. You must be able to see new opportunities to reach and engage citizens, while taking responsibility for bringing ideas to life through strong outreach, communication and collaboration. We envisage that you:

  • Are a strong culture communicator. Your professional background may be literature, reading or experience from the broader cultural scene, but most importantly you can translate content into tangible and relevant audience experiences
  • Have experience with communication and content production and can work strategically with outreach across physical and digital channels
  • Have an eye for audience development and can translate knowledge about target groups, needs and behavior into activities, communication and outreach with clear impact
  • Can develop, coordinate and implement events from idea and planning to execution and evaluation
  • Thrive to facilitate, moderate and create great audience experiences, both on stage and in meetings with citizens
  • Are strong at building relations, networks and collaborations across disciplines, organizations and external partners

We look forward to reading your application and gaining insight into how you will translate your experience and ideas into concrete initiatives that strengthen the library's relevance, visibility and reach.

Your application and CV must be received no later than November 12 at 23:59.

The interviews will take place on November 19 with a possible second interview on November 23. If you are the right candidate, we look forward to welcoming you with a start date January 1, 2027. About Lyngby-Taarbæk Libraries
