About the job

Do you want to help develop the library's youth effort through communities and user involvement?

We have an ambition to strengthen the library's importance for young people through communities, reading enthusiasm and active participation. Therefore we are seeking a colleague who can develop and drive our youth initiatives and translate strategic ambitions into concrete activities, partnerships and offerings that create value for the municipality's young people.

We need you who want to help make the library a relevant and attractive player for young people, where a love of reading, well-being and participation go hand in hand. You have an eye for the different life situations and interests of young people and understand the importance of actively involving the target group in the development of relevant offerings. You know that strong communities are not built for young people, but with young people.

Therefore you have experience with user involvement and the ability to translate young people's perspectives and ideas into activities, projects and partnerships with real value.

At the same time, you must strengthen the library's role as an active partner in the municipality's overall welfare efforts. Therefore we are looking for a profile who can create strong relationships and collaborations across disciplines, institutions and local communities, and who sees opportunities in the library's special position as an open and trust-building community.

In the cross-cutting work you will be part of a professional community that develops and implements library-based initiatives, where literature, culture and communities support well-being, participation and quality of life for different target groups.

You thrive on driving development in a municipal organization where new ideas must be translated into practice, and where development tasks, collaborations and daily operations go hand in hand. Therefore you are also part of the library's everyday life and actively participate in meeting citizens. Based on literature and reading you inspire new reading experiences through strong hospitality and engaging communication.

You participate in the daily library operations and meet citizens with different needs and interests, which requires you to thrive in a role where service and communication are as important as development work. In this way you contribute to creating a library that is perceived as open, relevant and welcoming to all of the municipality's citizens. You will among other things work with

  • development of the library's youth initiative focusing on reading enthusiasm, communities, well-being and user involvement
  • planning and implementation of activities, events and communities for young people, including literature dissemination, guided shared reading and other involving formats
  • establishment and development of collaborations and projects with schools, youth education, residential care facilities, municipal departments, associations and other partners
  • public service, hosting and participation in daily library operations, where you meet citizens and communicate the library's offerings

The position includes development, relationship-building, dissemination and cross-municipal cooperation. Therefore we are seeking a colleague who can translate ideas into concrete initiatives and create followership around them. We imagine that you have experience working strategically and relationally, while having literature and reading as a professional foundation. We imagine that you

  • have experience with young people as a target group and through strong relationships and networks manage to develop relevant offerings and communities for young people
  • be a skilled literature communicator with a sense of how literature, culture and communities can support young people's well-being, participation and belonging to communities
  • have experience with user involvement, guided shared reading and the development of community-building activities
  • can translate strategic goals into concrete projects, partnerships and dissemination efforts
  • have experience with project management and cross-cutting collaborations in complex organizations and be able to navigate the interplay between strategy, operations, policy and municipal decision-making processes
  • work in a structured manner and can balance both development tasks and operational tasks

We look forward to reading your application and hearing how you will contribute to developing the library's youth engagement and create relevant communities, activities and experiences with the municipality's youth. Application deadline

Your application and CV must be received no later than November 12 at 23:59.

Interviews will take place on November 18, with a potential second interview on November 24. If you are the right candidate, we look forward to welcoming you with a start date of January 1, 2027. About Lyngby-Taarbæk Libraries
