About the job

Would you like to become part of a small secretary team with a lot of freedom, close cross-disciplinary collaboration and a focus on the good patient journey? A position as medical secretary/SAK at the Department of Geriatric Medicine, Aarhus University Hospital is available from 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible.

About the position

As a medical secretary or SAK you will be part of a small team of three medical secretaries in total. You will have primary attachment to a ward, but the team helps across wards and coordinates tasks themselves. On the inpatient ward you will work closely with a daily coordinator on the tasks. The interdisciplinary collaboration is a strong part of our work.

We work closely with the department’s other professional groups to create good and coherent patient pathways, both during admission and in connection with discharge. We work interdisciplinarily to arrange the best possible course for our patients, both while they are in hospital and in connection with discharge. You will, as a medical secretary/SAK, contribute to coordinating the pathways in collaboration with the other staff in the ward. The secretarial group will be involved in development work in the department.

The position is shift-free.

Your primary tasks are

  • ensuring optimal, administrative patient pathways, where the patient is at the centre
  • journal writing to a limited extent, as we have speech recognition
  • admission and completion of patient pathways in the EHR (EPJ) and in Clinical Logistics
  • tidying up in the EPJ and Clinical Logistics via various error lists
  • telephone and in-person contact with patients, relatives and partners
  • training of other professional groups in the correct use of the patient administration system
  • participation in interdisciplinary morning conference every morning
  • handling of ad hoc tasks.

We expect that you

  • are trained medical secretary/SAK or secretary with extensive experience with Midt EPJ
  • have an overview and a sense for coordination
  • are flexible and have good collaboration skills
  • have extensive experience with EPJ, Clinical Logistics and IT in general
  • are service-minded and approachable
  • wish to work and think innovatively in a daily life characterized by changes and AUH’s transformation agenda .

We believe we have a good and trusting working environment where integrity and respectful communication are highly valued.
