About the job
Are you pursuing a graduate-level social science education? Do you have analytical acumen, and are you sharp with numbers? Do you hold high quality standards and have an eye for both the big picture and the detail? And do you want to try your hand at processing data, contributing to analyses, and further developing the metrics that continuously keep management informed about relevant conditions in Danish prisons? Then a student job in Data and Analysis at the Danish Prison and Probation Service might be something for you.
Data and Analysis is currently seeking a student with the possibility of starting as soon as possible. If you join us, you will be part of an office consisting of 17 colleagues, two deputy heads and a head of office.
About the position
As a student in Data and Analysis you will have the opportunity to address many different tasks that support both your nearest colleagues and the entire organization. Some tasks will be standalone, while others will be recurring. In this way you will also be assigned some independent tasks that you have the opportunity to shape and influence.
You will be anchored in our statistics unit, where you primarily will contribute to driving and developing the reports that continually keep the agency’s leadership informed about relevant conditions in Denmark's Prisons. In addition, there will be data-related tasks, e.g. processing extracts from source systems and various analysis tasks. You will also take on a number of varied tasks that support the other staff in the office. Your tasks will thus mainly consist of:
- Collect, process and quality-assure data.
- Develop and drive management information, i.e. ongoing reports targeted at the agency's leadership.
- Perform data extracts from reporting systems.
- Contribute to internal analyses.
- Prepare ad hoc analyses.
About you
We are looking for a student helper who

- Is passionate about working with data, analyses and leadership information.
- Has good knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Excel and preferably also Power BI. Knowledge of SAS, R, SQL or Python is also an advantage, but not essential.
- Is responsible and a ambitious team player with high quality standards.
- Has strong analytical skills and a desire to work data-driven.
- Can work in a structured and independent manner.
- Is good at collaborating and values a good mood.
We offer
- Exciting and varied tasks in an organization that makes a meaningful difference for people and society.
- Flexible working conditions, where a good balance between work, study and private life is highly valued.
- A strong professional environment with skilled, dedicated and humorous colleagues who are happy to help each other.
- Ongoing skills development for all staff in the office and a focus on developing the competencies you will use later in your career.
- Close sparring regarding your tasks, including a great opportunity to shape your own task portfolio.
Salary and employment terms
You will be employed under the common agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organisation – The Civil Service Area (OAO common agreement) and the collective agreement for clerks, lab technicians and IT staff (HK) in the state. Link to Circular on the organizational agreement for clerks, lab technicians and IT staff (HK) | Rules, agreements and circulars .
- We generally show flexibility in everyday life, and especially during exam periods, but also expect you to offer predictability (e.g. fixed days per week per semester) and to be somewhat flexible during periods of high workload. In general, we aim for a working time of about 15 hours per week.
- The employment area is Denmark's Prisons. The workplace is currently located at Strandgade 100, 1401 Copenhagen K.
- The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
