About the job

Be part of ensuring effective, correct and fair case processing

In the Secretariat of the Boards we support the Rent Board and the Tenant Complaint Board in their work to settle disputes between tenants and landlords. When citizens and businesses disagree about, for example, deposit, deficiencies in the dwelling, utility bills or during move-out, it is our task to ensure that the cases are properly informed and processed.

As an administrative employee you play a central role in this process. You help create structure, progress and quality in case processing, so the boards can make well-founded decisions. Your contribution helps strengthen legal certainty for both tenants and landlords.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced administrative employee with strong secretarial and case processing skills. You may come from a law firm, the courts, the public sector or property administration.

We particularly emphasize that you

  • have experience with administrative case processing - and preferably within dispute and appeal cases
  • work structured and have control of the details
  • are familiar with filing and document handling
  • express yourself clearly and precisely in writing
  • can maintain an overview, even when many tasks are in progress
  • take initiative and contribute constructively to task solving
  • have an aptitude for understanding and applying relevant legislation

Knowledge of rental legislation is an advantage, but not required.

Your tasks

You will have a varied everyday life with both administrative tasks, case processing and contact with citizens and partners. Your tasks will include:

  • create cases and journalize material on the cases
  • obtain information and conduct party hearings in collaboration with the secretariat's lawyers
  • assist with the preparation of notes for the board's assessment
  • prepare cases for board consideration, including preparing agendas
  • follow up on the boards' decisions and close cases
  • answer inquiries from citizens, businesses and authorities
  • manage telephone and written contact with tenants and landlords
  • process requests for access to documents and other administrative inquiries

We offer an exciting and varied position in a specialized field with good opportunities for professional development. You will become part of a committed team where cooperation, knowledge sharing and helpfulness are a natural part of everyday life.

About the Secretariat

The Rent Board and the Tenant Complaint Board make decisions in disputes between tenants and landlords in private rental properties and social housing. The Secretariat serves both boards and ensures that disputes are as well informed as possible so the boards can make correct and well-founded decisions. Disputes include, among other things, complaints about defects in the dwelling, move-out repairs and repayment of deposit, utility accounts and good manners and order.

As an administrative employee you play an important role in ensuring that cases are processed correctly, efficiently and properly. You will, among other things, participate in receiving and registering cases, obtaining information, preparing cases for board consideration and finalizing cases after the boards’ decisions.

You will be part of a specialized secretariat where many different case types, fixed procedures and ongoing contact with citizens, businesses, authorities and board members are worked with. Cases may concern defects in the dwelling, repairs when moving out, deposit, utility accounts etc.

You do not need a legal background, but you must be willing to work with cases where rules, deadlines, documentation and precise written language are of great importance. You will be thoroughly introduced to the tasks and the relevant rules.
