Smoking cessation advisor sought for an open position in Horsens Municipality

Are you a trained nicotine cessation advisor and do you have experience with nicotine cessation and tobacco prevention? Then we have an exciting position that may be of interest to you.

About the position

We have plenty to do and need a new and capable colleague for our nicotine cessation efforts.

Appointment is as soon as possible and weekly working hours are arranged by agreement. The position is limited until 1 October 2027

You will be employed in our department “Vital Ceres – Good Life with Chronic Illness” and will be part of our nicotine cessation team. Therefore it is necessary that you are a trained nicotine cessation advisor and it is an advantage if you have experience with work on nicotine cessation, tobacco prevention or similar, motivation-driven change processes.

Your employment will be as a self-managing employee and your working hours will predominantly fall within normal office hours 6.00 – 18.00 on weekdays and planned in relation to the tasks you are to handle and in collaboration with your colleagues in your team. However you should expect one to two weekly workdays until 18.00.

Your tasks will include

• Carrying out nicotine cessation programs both individually and at group level
• Documentation of your efforts
• Follow-up on referrals
• Registration in Stopbase
• Marketing of our offers (physical and SoMe)
• Outreach work

• Have a social or health professional educational background.
• Are a trained nicotine cessation advisor and have experience of working with nicotine cessation

• Have a high work ethic and great responsibility for our joint task completion
• Are adaptable and flexible regarding your work tasks
• Have a positive mindset, plenty of humour and will contribute to a strong sense of workplace

About the department and our approach

Vital Ceres - “Good Life with Chronic Illness” is one of seven departments in the function area Vital Horsens in Horsens Municipality.

We are housed in the former Ceres Brewery in the center of Horsens and are 22 colleagues with a wide range of professional backgrounds: dietitians, social and health care assistants, nurses, physiotherapists, bachelor in nutrition and health, master in sports science, psychologist, midwife, teacher and administrative staff.

In the department we carry out patient-oriented prevention for citizens with type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, COPD and cancer. We also carry out citizen-oriented prevention for citizens who want nicotine cessation, have severe overweight or sleep problems and have just started an effort to strengthen young people’s sexual health.

We work with citizens based on the rehabilitative and health-pedagogical approach with a basis in the positive and broad health concept and the double KRAM.
