About the job

Are you a nurse with palliative experience, then look here! We are seeking you for an exciting position as a traveling nurse to the palliative ward at Bispebjerg Hospital. Do you want to work with specialized palliation and combine the work as a traveling nurse in patients' homes with days in the palliative ward, so read on.

We are looking for a dedicated nurse who will become part of our large team in the Palliative Ward. In the Outpatient Function there are three nurses where you will be the fourth. In addition, the Palliative Ward consists of 16 nurses in a ward with space for 8-10 patients, a nurse with a cross-organization function in the rest of the hospital, doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, a social worker, a chaplain, secretaries, and volunteers and a large service group.

The work as a traveling nurse

  • As a traveling nurse you visit patients where they are, e.g. in their own home, residential facility, nursing home, hospital, drop-in center, etc.
  • Work with ambulatory visits, telephone contacts and coordination of interdisciplinary pathways
  • Work as a nurse on the Palliative Ward P20, where we provide palliative care to patients with complex and life-threatening illnesses and their relatives.

It is the patients' wishes and needs that form the basis for our care and treatment. Patients and relatives are supported in living as actively and meaningfully as possible despite a life with a life-threatening illness. The patient group is broad and also includes people who are socially exposed, mentally challenging, dementia patients or have other challenges, which helps shape the professional and humane approach in the pathways.

Tasks in the traveling function

  • Home visits to patients for ambulatory consultations, telephone follow-up and video consultations
  • Coordination of interdisciplinary and cross-sector offers
  • Assessment of nursing and treatment needs, symptom relief and support to patients and relatives with a focus on quality of life
  • Professional handling of complex situations at home with respect for the patient’s privacy
  • Close interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, a social worker, chaplain and secretaries

Tasks in the ward

  • Palliative care and treatment of patients in all palliative stages (early, late and terminal)
  • Focus on symptom relief and quality of life
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists, social workers, chaplain, secretaries and volunteers

Who are you?

  • We prefer that you have experience in palliation
  • You can work independently with decisiveness and flexibility
  • You are someone who thrives on complex patient pathways and value interdisciplinary collaboration as a foundation in palliation
  • You have strong relational skills and can build trust with patients and relatives
  • You want to contribute to a professionally developing and positive work environment
  • You are a positive person and do not hold back humor and smiles

We offer

  • A combined position with professional development, responsibility and influence
  • A thorough introductory program with a mentor and bedside training
  • Interdisciplinary teaching, supervision and communication course
  • Career and competence development via MUS and further education
  • An engaged interdisciplinary team
  • A social committee, education committee, etc.

Practical information

  • Employment: January 1, 2027 or by agreement
  • Application deadline: November 15, 2026, invitation to interview on November 16.
