About the job

Are you our new nurse in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Southern Denmark, the outpatient clinic in Esbjerg?

We are looking for a nurse who can become part of the treatment team in the child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient clinic in Esbjerg. Do you have experience working with children and young people or within the psychiatric field? Are you good at building strong relationships quickly and contributing to constructive solutions, then you might be the one we are looking for

We are seeking 2 nurses for a permanent position of 37 hours per week starting 1/12/2026 or as soon as possible thereafter

The outpatient clinic in Esbjerg has about 70 employees who work across teams by age. You will therefore be working across diagnoses with assessment and treatment of either children or adolescents. As a clinician you will work closely with other professional groups such as psychologists, social workers, doctors and secretaries. The outpatient clinic works with assessment and treatment of children and young people aged 4-17 years.

As a nurse you are both part of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment. There is a great deal of autonomy, but also teamwork, so you always have the opportunity to spar with and learn from your colleagues. We have a caring approach to both the families we work with and our colleagues.

Regular supervision of the staff group is provided. In the introductory period you will have a fixed mentor assigned.

You are a trained nurse and preferably have experience with the psychiatric specialty and/or working with children.

  • You are engaged, proactive and have an interest in child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Willingness for personal and professional development
  • Experience with networking and prioritising it in daily life
  • Sees multidisciplinary collaboration as an advantage and an important supplement to your own professional skills, making collaboration a natural part of daily life
  • Can work independently in a busy everyday life, where it is important to maintain overview and structure your own tasks

Upcoming tasks

  • Join the multidisciplinary collaboration as the primary clinician for assigned outpatient patients, where the task includes conducting clarifying conversations/anamneses with the patient and possibly parents, as well as presenting and discussing own cases at team conferences.
  • Conduct conversations and treatment/follow-up in relevant cases
  • Handle medication checks, including for children/young people with ADHD
  • Present cases at collaboration conferences with school, PPR, social worker in the municipality and other relevant partners
  • Work based on team collaboration and with reference to the treating physician, where you, together with the nearest colleagues, solve a number of independent treatment tasks.
  • Work with involvement of the patient and parents or other relevant networks
  • Document in the electronic medical record (EPJ) for your own patients

We offer

  • A varied daily life with exciting and meaningful tasks.
  • A thorough introduction and training, tailored to your needs
  • Close collegial monodisciplinary and multidisciplinary sparring, as well as supervision opportunities
  • Influence on working hours within the outpatient clinic's opening hours – with a focus on balance between work life and private life.
  • A good working environment where we work closely together and help each other.
  • An ongoing focus on high professional standards and professional development.
