About the job

Can you imagine becoming part of a very special specialty, where both complexity and family formation are in the foreground. To become part of a professionally strong and engaged staff group that strives to give new families the best start?

Then the Maternity Ward at AUH - the place for you.

In the Maternity Ward we are seeking new colleagues with start on 1 February 2027, or by agreement.

Two permanent positions and two temporary positions are available.

About the Maternity Ward

As a nurse/midwife with us, you will be employed in the maternity ward and primarily have shifts here. As you gain increased familiarity with the ward's patients and complexity, you will also have the opportunity to combine the work with roles in the Family Ward and our postpartum clinic.

The Maternity Ward comprises 22 rooms and the Family Ward 10 rooms, staffed around the clock. Our postpartum clinic handles all acute contact with newborn families in the first days of life; this function is staffed during day and evening hours, where we also travel out to home maternity care programs.

Our workday consists of a broad diversity and complexity of tasks. Here there is a very high flow that demands a good overview, an interest in both the normal as well as the complicated maternity care process. And not least interdisciplinary - and cross-sector collaboration that requires good teamwork skills and flexibility.

We have many students and we see it as an important task to contribute to good educational pathways.

We take great pride in being a professional lighthouse in both the core tasks of maternity care and for the complex and demanding obstetric treatments. Maternity care is constantly evolving, so we must, in step with development, ensure a good patient pathway for the individual family. Your ideas, curiosity and knowledge can therefore also continuously help develop our department and the future maternity care pathways.

We see it as essential to actively work for a good and healthy working environment, where a normal everyday life with high tempo, many varied tasks, large flow and high demands also includes opportunities for brain breaks, collegial sparring and the sense that we are together on the task. A hallmark of the department is a strong sense of community and great professional pride.

Currently

In Gynaecology and Births we are currently working with a wide range of improvements and transformations both professionally and organizationally. We are focused on becoming a consciously developing organization, where employees have development opportunities and can see themselves for many years.

If this sounds like something for you, we can offer

  • a passion for the individual and professionally meaningful patient care
  • an exciting specialty with great professional engagement, political attention and ambitions
  • influence on the working environment, workflows and processes
  • good humor and a strong camaraderie across units in a large organization
  • a workplace that is focused on development both professionally and organizationally
  • a department where we work with well-being, motivation and development among employees
  • a high tempo and a high patient flow.

We are looking for a new colleague who

  • has a strong professional profile and who has a heart for working with maternity care, and dreams of supporting the normal in particularly complicated and vulnerable cases
  • would like to deliver high professional quality – and wishes to work interdisciplinary
  • can reflect on their own practice and is keen on innovation and development
  • can contribute to a positive work culture and good collegial camaraderie
  • is stable and can maintain an overview in a department with high complexity and high flow
  • would preferably have experience in maternity care, obstetric care or neonatal care – but it is not a requirement.
