About the job

Become part of a strong team and specialise in treatment of eating disorders and depression. Are you passionate about working in a specialized inpatient ward where complex nursing, high professionalism and development are in focus? Then this position is for you. We are seeking an engaged and competent nurse for our inpatient ward for patients with eating disorders.

We can offer a one-year nursing position (annual fixed-term) in Ward 6 in psychiatry with commencement on 1 January 2027 or earlier by agreement. The position is 37 hours/week with rotating shifts. You must be able to work day, evening and night shifts. Weekend work is expected alternately every 3rd and 2nd weekend in 8-hour shifts. This means weekend work 5 out of 12 weekends.

Who are we?

We are a sheltered inpatient ward established two years ago focusing on specialized treatment of patients with eating disorders, where patient pathways are often complex and intensive. There is space for 16 patients in total, where the primary specialty is eating disorders and the sub-specialty is treatment of patients with depression and anxiety. Here you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of psychiatry and somatic treatment, where your professionalism and care are crucial for a vulnerable patient group.

We have a close collaboration with the patients and their relatives, and work from an understanding of eating disorders as a symptom of underlying emotional discomfort. Our goal is to support patients in making new choices and creating a treatment environment without the use of coercion. To ensure high professional standards and well-being, we offer ongoing competence development through teaching, supervision and team meetings. Here there is room for professional discussions, reflection and sparring in a safe environment.

At Ward 6 we place a high value on unity and a good working environment. We believe that a strong team creates the best treatment for patients and the best work life for staff. We have a strong focus on a vibrant social community both at and outside the workplace. Whether it is an informal coffee break, a joint activity after work or a fun Friday evening, we prioritise well-being and community so that together we can create a workplace where we look forward to coming in every day.

In our staff group we include nurses, social and health care assistants, occupational therapists, pedagogues, physiotherapists, doctors and psychologists. We are broadly represented in terms of age.

Who are you?

Maybe you come with experience in psychiatry? If so, you will have a great opportunity to contribute your competencies and help develop the department professionally. It is not a requirement but it is preferred that you have experience in psychiatry. Regardless of your professional background, we will welcome you. You will receive an individually tailored introduction program depending on your professional and personal qualifications.

The daily life on S6

As an employee with us you will play a central role in patient pathways and act as a contact person for one or more admitted patients. Your daily tasks will include participating in eating groups, social time and possibly participation in group programs, such as creative activities, physiotherapy or talk groups. You will become part of a strong multidisciplinary team where professional sparring and respect for each other's competencies are highly valued. Here we work closely together to ensure the best treatment for our patients and recognise the importance of different professional perspectives.

It is expected that an employee will participate in conflicts on the department as well as respond to alarm situations in other departments after participating in relevant courses that you will be enrolled in after employment. To support your professional development we offer ongoing supervision in collaboration with your colleagues, ensuring both learning and psychological safety in daily life.

You will also be assigned a mentor and have the opportunity for sparring once a month to support your professional development. We prioritise competence development and offer a wide range of courses and further training that support your career in psychiatry. You will have the opportunity to specialise through courses including cognitive behavioural therapy, treatment of self-harm and eating disorders, psychopathology, and NADA acupuncture.

Participation in courses and continuing education is planned in consultation with you to match your interests and development goals.
