About the job

We are seeking a dedicated and professionally strong occupational therapist for Kompetencecenter Grønnevang (KCG).

The position is 8 hours per week and involves a central role in our interdisciplinary collaboration around children and young people with special learning needs.

About KCG

KCG is part of Grønnevang School and has about 100 pupils spread across two tracks of special classes. One track is for students with speech, reading and language difficulties, the other for students with general learning difficulties. KCG shares facilities with and is closely integrated with Grønnevang School’s general classes. KCG is spread across 2 campuses divided into the 0.-5. grade and the 6.-9. grade.

KCG stands for a special educational practice, which stems from extensive professional knowledge, experience and commitment within the field of speech, reading and language and within the entire special education field. Everyday life is characterized by close collaboration between the competence center’s teachers, educators, speech-language pathologists and the occupational therapist, as well as close teamwork on the overall task of the students’ well-being, development and learning.

We focus on a mentalizing approach to students and colleagues and work from Co-teaching principles. We are ambitious and place a high value on interdisciplinarity and see different professional perspectives as a strength in working to create the best participation opportunities for our students.

About the position

As an occupational therapist at KCG you will be part of our interdisciplinary resource group and will contribute with your professional knowledge in the work with students’ learning, well-being and development.

Your tasks will include among others to

  • observe and assess students’ participation possibilities in teaching and school life
  • contribute with assessments and recommendations regarding sensorimotor, perceptual and executive challenges
  • guide and spar with teachers, educators and other professional groups about adapting learning environments
  • plan and implement targeted interventions for individual students or groups
  • participate in interdisciplinary meetings as well as collaborate with parents and relevant partners
  • contribute to the development of our special educational practice.

What do we offer?

We offer a professionally exciting and ambitious work environment with a high degree of interdisciplinary collaboration and the opportunity to make a real difference for children and young people with special needs.

You will become part of

  • an engaged and competent interdisciplinary team
  • a workplace with high professional standards and a strong collegial community
  • approachable management and short decision-making paths
  • a everyday life with room for both professional deepening, development and humor
  • ongoing professional sparring as well as internal courses and professional development.

We are looking for an occupational therapist who

  • has experience with or interest in working with children and young people
  • has knowledge of sensorimotor, perception and participation opportunities in school contexts
  • can translate professional assessments into concrete and practice-oriented recommendations
  • thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration with teachers, educators, speech therapists and management
  • has a resource-oriented view of pupils, parents and colleagues
  • works independently, in a structured and development-oriented way.

We do not necessarily require an occupational therapist with many years of experience from the school sector. The most important is that you want to bring your occupational therapy competencies into play in a strong interdisciplinary community around children and young people with special needs.
