About the job

Would you like to influence the future rehabilitative efforts for Copenhagen Municipality's citizens under 65? Then you now have the chance to become part of the Rehabilitation Unit in the area of Rehabilitation and Home Care in the Health and Care Administration. We are seeking an occupational therapist or physiotherapist for a maternity cover in our rehabilitation unit. The unit is part of Home Care Visitation.

As a rehabilitation therapist in the Rehabilitation and Home Care area, your task is to support citizens on their way to a more independent life through overseeing rehabilitation processes according to the Social Services Act § 83a in close collaboration with the visitor/assessor.

The target group for the intervention is citizens under 65 with various issues, e.g., pain problems, younger people with brain injury or psychiatric issues, who are assessed as capable of becoming wholly or partially self-reliant through a shorter rehabilitation process, and thereby achieve a more independent life and less need for help from home care.

You will be responsible for your own cases and must collaborate with citizens to set goals for the processes. The processes will primarily take place in the citizen's home and focus on everyday rehabilitation.

Part of the job portfolio also includes assessing citizens' functional capacity, providing ergonomic guidance, and contributing to the case information before the assessor makes a decision on home help.

We aim to support citizens' own recovery process and focus on a holistic approach. You will therefore experience working with relatives or internal partners in the municipality and possibly in the region. Likewise you will be responsible for ensuring handover to home care.

About the Rehabilitation Unit

The Rehabilitation Unit consists of 13 occupational and physiotherapists and a department head. We are in the middle of a development process, where together with the visitation service we focus on citizen meetings, how we ensure coherent processes, and that we use evidence-based methods to support the citizen's own recovery process in the best possible way. You will thus have ample opportunity to leave your mark on the rehabilitative effort for Copenhagen Municipality's citizens under 65.

We work in self-managing teams and place emphasis on a good work community, with the aim of creating the best foundation for delivering a stable and high quality in our rehabilitative efforts for our citizens.

We are seeking a rehabilitation therapist who has

  • a therapeutic background as occupational or physiotherapist
  • experience in handling rehabilitation and training programs, preferably in a municipal context
  • experience with pain problems, psychiatry or neuro-rehabilitation
  • can work purposefully and independently
  • has good relational skills
  • is keen to join a working community where sparring and professional development are in focus

Salary and employment terms

The position is a six-month maternity leave cover with the possibility of extension, and the working hours are 37 hours per week. We hope you can start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

Salary and employment terms according to applicable collective agreement. We will obtain a criminal record certificate and references in connection with employment.

If you have previously been employed in Copenhagen Municipality, further applies

If you are considered for a position in a municipal unit, we will check whether you have been terminated or dismissed from the municipality within the last three years and share relevant information with the hiring manager. It may also include information about criminal behavior that led to termination or dismissal from Copenhagen Municipality, information about substance abuse such as a positive alcohol test, or information about medical history that could have significant implications for a new employment in the municipality. Read more about reference checks here.
