About the job

Do you want to help strengthen fall prevention and rehabilitation for older citizens in the City of Copenhagen?

Center for Rehabilitation Østerbro is seeking a professionally strong and engaged occupational therapist or physiotherapist who is passionate about developing practice and creating coherent, cross-disciplinary pathways for older and fall-risk citizens.

Who are we?

In the older-care area, the City of Copenhagen is in full swing implementing the new elderly law and strengthening the rehabilitative cross-disciplinary approach. Our goal is that older and frail citizens have the opportunity to maintain as much independence and quality of life in daily life as possible.

Center for Rehabilitation Østerbro is part of Center for Rehabilitation Copenhagen and consists of 29 physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We conduct rehabilitation pathways within geriatric and orthopedic-surgical areas and have a city-wide function for citizens with hand surgical pathways. We have close collaboration with home care, home nursing, the authority area and the other four rehabilitation centers in the city, where similarly focused therapists are employed with a particular focus on falls.

You will thus be part of a network across Center for Rehabilitation Copenhagen with a focus on fall prevention.

With us you will have a work environment characterized by high professionalism, curiosity and collaboration both locally and across the city.

About the position

As a therapist with a special focus on fall prevention you will play a central role in the interdisciplinary work in the area, which is just being implemented. You will among other things work with assessment and rehabilitation of citizens with fall problems. You will contribute to quality assurance of systematic recording of falls and develop and initiate individually differentiated actions with focus on the interdisciplinary, preventive and rehabilitative approach throughout the citizen's pathways.

You will be organizationally anchored in Center for Rehabilitation. Part of your working time will also take place in collaboration with different partners across the city, including home care and nursing.

Your main tasks will be to

  • develop and implement fall initiative, registration and prevention
  • take care of rehabilitation after the Elderly Act, the Service Act and the Health Act within the geriatric target group
  • build a bridge between rehabilitation, home care and the authority area – including participation in the cross-disciplinary citizen meetings in home care
  • support therapists and staff in home care in reflection and learning in daily practice
  • contribute to implementation of new initiatives and further development of existing efforts
  • seek and disseminate new knowledge in the field of falls
  • participate in introduction of new employees and create professional coherence across

You will have a varied daily life, where you work both coordinatively and relationally and with concrete rehabilitation pathways.

About you

We are looking for an occupational therapist or a physiotherapist who is professionally grounded and passionate about working holistic with older citizens. You thrive in a cross-disciplinary environment where you can use your knowledge to create development and quality in practice.

We imagine that you

  • have experience with and enthusiasm for geriatric rehabilitation, rehabilitation and fall prevention – preferably from the primary sector
  • have knowledge of working with professional guidance, implementation processes and possibly teaching
  • can create relationships and collaboration across professions and units
  • have impact, patience and an appreciative approach
  • have experience with collaboration with social and health care assistants
  • are curious, solution-oriented and motivated by seeing how small daily changes can make a big difference for citizens

We offer

  • exciting and independent tasks with influence on content and methods
  • a strong cross-disciplinary community in Center for Rehabilitation and close sparring with colleagues in the whole municipality
  • a quality-oriented organization and an environment where professionalism, trust and collaboration go hand in hand
  • ongoing competence development to ensure a high professional level
  • opportunity to influence the development of fall prevention, rehabilitation and reablement in the City of Copenhagen
