About the job
We continue to admit new youths to our 4 special placements at MosaikHusene and therefore seek an occupational therapist for our newly formed team. MosaikHusene is anchored in Faxe Social Development Center – commonly referred to as FSU.
Do you want to be part of a professionally strong and interdisciplinary team that is in the process of starting up 4 entirely special placements for youths in a house of their own? Do you want to work with presence, attentiveness, contact, activity, sensory integration and development in daily life? Are you excited by movement, sensory stimulation and holistic support? Do you want to have influence on daily life?
And are you passionate about working with youths with special needs – youths who are also physically challenged due to reduced functions and complex support needs? Then maybe it’s with us you should apply.
At FSU we believe that it matters for all people to have significance for others, and that this helps give meaning to life. We believe that everyone has resources to participate in communities that both constrain and include. Therefore we work to support the youths in opportunities to participate in meaningful communities – regardless of challenges.
We highly value good collaboration, both with colleagues, relatives and external partners. We have many different professional backgrounds represented, and the interdisciplinary collaboration is at the center. As an occupational therapist you will become an important part of this collaboration and gain a central role in supporting the youths’ everyday life, participation in activities, sensory processing and functional ability.
About the job
We are looking for a dedicated occupational therapist with professional weight, overview and a desire to work closely with practice in our 4 new placements, where there are particularly good frameworks for youths with multiple disabilities and extensive support needs.
The residential facility houses a total of 12 places distributed in 3 houses for youths under and over 18 with accompanying respite beds. Our 4 newly established placements will house youths who share the same zest for life as our other youths – they simply have a greater need for support in terms of care, structure, activity, communication and participation in daily life due to their multiple disabilities.
These are youths we often know from our STU and activity programs, and we use these offerings to really get to know the youths. The youths have a higher proportion of 1:1 supported hours per day than the remaining residents, and as an occupational therapist you will therefore be part of the daily staffing.
As an occupational therapist with us you will be part of the daily practice and will play an important role in ensuring coherence between pedagogy, sensory stimulation, activity, communication, functional ability, assistive devices and documentation. You will work both directly with the youths and contribute with occupational therapy sparring to colleagues in the team.
Your tasks will include
- Individual support, care and guidance in daily life with a focus on participation, mastery and quality of life.
- Occupational-therapeutic observations, assessments and follow-up on the youths’ functional abilities, activity level and need for support.
- Work with sensory integration, sensory stimulation and use of a sensory room as a significant part of daily life.
- Planning and carrying out meaningful activities in both individual and group-based settings.
- Support for personal development, well-being, independence and participation in communities.
- Contribute to structure, predictability and adaptation of daily routines according to the individual’s needs.
- Assessment, use and follow-up on aids, seating positions, lying/positioning, transfers and other relevant compensatory measures.
- Guidance and sparring to colleagues on ergonomics, aids, activity adjustment, sensory profiles and functional ability.
- Collaboration with relatives, therapists, doctors, specialists, STU, activity offerings and other relevant professionals.
- Documentation in relevant systems and contribution to pedagogical and interdisciplinary plans.
- Participation in interdisciplinary meetings, reflection and professional development in the team.
- Participation in developing workflows and professional methods in the new placements.
We are looking for you who
- Is a trained occupational therapist.
- Wants to work with youths with autism spectrum disorders, cognitive impairment and multiple disabilities.
- Ideally has experience with the target group, disability sector, social sector, sensory integration, assistive devices, activity adaptation or neuro-education – but this is not a requirement.
- Has interest in both occupational therapy, pedagogy and health professional collaboration.
- Can work relationally, attentively and respectfully with youths who may have limited communication options.
- Is concerned with how activity, sensation, structure and surroundings can support well-being and participation.
- Is patient, listens well and is good at building safe relationships.
- Can work in a structured and independent way, but also thrives in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Has good communication skills and flair for written documentation.
- Wants to contribute to the development of a new department and help shape professionalism, workflows and daily practice.
- Can maintain overview and calm – also when tasks require special attention, flexibility and professional judgment.
We offer
- A meaningful and independent position where you can make a real difference for youths with special needs.
- Opportunity to apply your occupational therapy expertise in a close interdisciplinary environment.
- A professionally strong and supportive team with pedagogues, SSA staff, nurses and other relevant professionals.

- Thorough onboarding to the target group, the youths’ individual needs and relevant methods.
- Ongoing supervision, sparring and skill development.
- Possibility to influence daily life and the development of the 4 special placements.
- Good opportunities to work with sensory integration, activity and movement in practice.
- Shifts in working hours, including day/evening and weekend – currently we work every 2nd weekend. but we aim for the team around these 4 placements to have the same opportunity to work every 3rd and 2/4 weekend as the team in the other houses in 2027.
