Our wonderful day care Birkedal is seeking a playful and curious pedagogical assistant for our nursery

We are seeking an engaged and collaborative colleague who loves to play and initiate fun activities and programs with the children. It is important to us that you work in an affirming and inclusive way, and manage both to work independently and to collaborate with the pedagogues to structure a meaningful day for the children.

Your primary tasks

• Create a learning environment where all children feel welcome and included
• Promote joy, laughter and enthusiasm by meeting the children at eye level
• In collaboration with our pedagogues, develop activities and play that support children's perspectives
• Contribute to a positive working environment with an overview and create a safe and development‑oriented everyday life for the children

About us

Birkedal is a high‑quality day care facility with 38 infants distributed across 4 rooms and 56 preschool children distributed across 3 rooms. We are located in Værløse, in the middle of a residential area, close to beautiful nature and within walking distance from the station. We are enriched with a lovely playground with space for movement, immersion and hide-and-seek and therefore have a strong focus on outdoor life, body, senses and movement.

Presence, immersion, empathy and recognition with an eye for the children’s perspectives are some of the values that characterize our pedagogical practice. The staff group is an experienced bunch, many of whom have been employed for several years at Birkedal. A hallmark of the staff group is a strong commitment and focus on ensuring good children's communities, where children thrive and develop. Our parent collaboration is based on communication, respect and well‑being.

We have a very active parent group, which is very interested in how they best support the staff and Birkedal.

About you

• You are good at playing
• You have experience in initiating physical, motor and sensory activities with children
• You can create a structured daily routine
• You are keen to work with 0‑3 year olds

We work with digital media in many aspects of our everyday life, so it is a requirement that you can use and navigate various digital platforms.

Employment date: Start is December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Employment and hours: 30 hours per week, the position is permanent

We offer permanent employment with a weekly working time of 30 hours distributed on weekdays in the time frame 6:45 to 17:00, in addition to evening meetings.

In Furesø Municipality, wages and terms of employment follow the applicable collective agreement and based on the principles of New Pay.
