Consultant in Palliative Care sought for Bornholm Hospital

Bornholms Hospital is seeking a committed and visionary chief physician with an interest in palliation, who wishes to make a difference for patients with life-threatening disease and their relatives.

About the position

We are looking for a chief physician for our department of Palliative Care, which provides specialized palliative treatment and advice to patients with complex symptoms and special needs.

Your tasks

• Clinical work with patients in specialized palliative care
• Symptom relief and treatment planning in complex courses
• Outreach function for patients in specialized palliation in their own home
• Interdisciplinary collaboration with relevant professional groups
• Advice and supervision of colleagues
• Contribute to development, quality assurance and teaching
• Mentor for medical trainees in the department

We are seeking a chief physician who

• Is a board-certified specialist in a relevant internal medicine specialty or family medicine
• Has competencies or experience in palliation
• Has good collaboration skills
• Works patient-centered
• Wants to contribute to the development of the field on Bornholm

The position in brief

• Chief physician position (possibly a specialist with chief physician qualifications)
• 37 hours per week
• The position is without on-call duties
• Inpatient rounds and outreach function
• Commencement 1 March 2027, or preferably earlier.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms follow the current collective agreement between the Association of Specialist Doctors and the Regions’ Payroll and Tariff Board. Starting salary may vary depending on your seniority, experience, education, and the geographical location of the workplace.
