About the job

We are seeking a chief physician for the Pediatric Department at Filadelfia, with starting date 1 March 2027 or by agreement.

About the position

We are looking for a chief physician with experience in neuro-pediatrics and preferably also with research experience. The position requires empathy and an eye for interdisciplinary collaboration and an understanding of the value of coherent patient pathways. At the same time you are motivated by the development of the quality of patient care and you are able to create cohesion in the professional communities—even when they are reimagined and developed as part of professional needs.

The position is full-time and you report to the Chief Physician. The position carries a 10-shift on-call duty. The on-call duty covers Filadelfia's entire hospital area.

As part of the professional leadership, you are expected to contribute to medical and interdisciplinary teaching, supervision of colleagues, and to initiate and drive quality improvement initiatives, professional development projects and research during working hours in collaboration with the Chief Physician and the Head Nurse.

About you

As a chief physician you will contribute to developing Filadelfia so that we at all times deliver the very best in the field. This applies to the medical field as well as related disciplines. You will, in collaboration with the group of specialists and the chief physician, have the responsibility to ensure the very high professional level in the treatment of epilepsy in children, which is Filadelfia's hallmark.

At Filadelfia we prioritize innovation, research and professionalism and have an understanding of what this requires, including a good working environment and an understanding of the patient perspective. You will therefore, as chief physician, have an important role as a motivator, driving force and collaborative colleague in the further development of the Epilepsy Hospital.

About us

Our pediatric department has a nationwide function as a highly specialized department for the assessment and treatment of epilepsy in children and functions as a tertiary national treatment center for children with treatment-refractory epilepsy.

We offer a broad range of treatments both during hospitalization and in outpatient pathways. In treatment, we base our approach on a holistic understanding of the patients' medical history to ensure a good patient journey and a durable treatment outcome. We have a focus on, among other things, precision medicine with the latest medical treatments, supported by our clinical trial unit, as well as internal research and quality projects initiated and supervised by clinical lecturers and professors.

We also work with genetic diagnostics of rare epileptic forms, evaluation for epilepsy surgery, treatment with ketogenic diet and vagus nerve stimulator. Diagnostics and treatment are supported by our specialized neurophysiological department, our neuropsychological department and our specialized laboratory. The department is well functioning with a focus on high professionalism and development.

In the pediatric department we also prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration, involvement and inclusion of patients and relatives, and patient-centered research. We currently have around 1,500 children and adolescents from across the country connected to us.

We collaborate with pediatric departments across Denmark with a focus on collaboration and general guidance.
