Educator for lower primary and after-school care - with a focus on children and an interest in special education

Do you want to use your pedagogical professional skills to create safety, learning and strong communities? Then you may be our new colleague at Kalvehave School and Kindergarten.

We are looking for a trained pedagogue for our early years and after-school care (SFO). You may have special education experience – but your curiosity, your relational skills and your desire to learn are at least as important.

A close professional community

We are 110 students and 69 staff . The students are in grades 0–10 and are distributed across early years, lower and upper grades, and a cross-cutting ASK team.

You will become part of a team where teachers, pedagogues and pedagogical assistants work together on teaching, play and activities. We develop our practice together and create opportunities for participation based on each child's needs.

Our work is based on Vordingborg Municipality's shared view of children and young people . We meet the children with a focus on their resources, listen to their perspectives and take responsibility to create safe relationships and communities where they feel they belong.

Here there is room for professional questions, new ideas and humor. We take the task seriously and place emphasis on strong relationships between both children and adults.

We are looking for you who

• Have experience with or interest in children with autism, ADHD and socioemotional difficulties.
• See the child's resources and take responsibility to create a safe relationship.
• Maintain calm in difficult situations and adjust demands and support to the child.
• Actively contribute to collaboration with colleagues, management and the child’s home.
• Want to reflect on your own practice and develop your professional skills.

You apply for the early years and SFO, but must be open to the tasks changing and over time including other age groups.

We offer

A mentoring program that gives you a good introduction to our special pedagogical work, close team collaboration and ongoing professional sparring.

We prioritize familiar adults around the children and have fixed pedagogical assistants in the teams. We work closely with parents, foster parents and care facilities as well as PPR’s psychologists, speech/hearing consultants and therapists from Training and Rehabilitation.
