Pedagogical Leader for Børnehuset Sangglad

Do you have big ears that are good at hearing the children's voices? Do you feel more at home in the middle of a game in the “red room” than in an office chair? But are you nonetheless curious about pedagogical leadership, and do you have a growing desire to lead and help set the pedagogical direction? Then you are exactly the person we are looking for!

At Dagtilbuddene in the Assens area we are seeking a pedagogical leader for Børnehuset Sangglad in the town of Assens.

The position is full-time with start on 1 January 2027.

We love to sing We are called Sangglad because we love to sing, and because in our pedagogical work we have a strong focus on the children's voices through song and involvement.

Singing is part of our profile, but we are also very open to what other professional interests you bring to the table.

We have a monthly song that the whole kindergarten sings. All the songs are posted on our notice board so that the parents know what we sing and can sing the songs at home.

All children deserve a “vense” With us every child has a vense. Vense is the children's environment friend. Børnemiljø-vense??? what creature is that???

For some it is just a sock with sewn-on eyes, ears, a nose and a mouth, but for us it is an important pedagogical tool, and for the children it is a special friend they can confide in and express themselves through.

The whole project is about children and adults together exploring kindergarten life and involving the children's voices.

It takes courage to be “evaluated” by the children, but we have that courage, because we rest in our professionalism and are ready to pivot if we need to adjust our pedagogical practice.

We are a diverse kindergarten We are a diverse kindergarten with everything that implies. We encompass it all. We hope you see this as an exciting challenge and a strength. We do.

We are a small kindergarten with 35 lovely children, and we live in an old house with cozy corridors and separate rooms. It gives a very special sense of calm.

We have a large motor skills cellar and a large playground with a bonfire hut, football field, sledding hill, etc., where there is room to romp and be wild.

We are part of Dagtilbuddene i Assens-området, which also includes Børnehuset Naturligheden and Dagplejen. Our kindergartens are located 900 m from each other.

One of the unique aspects of our kindergartens is that we have city, culture, forest and sea right outside the gate.

We are an active part of Assens town and engage with the local community. We hope you will contribute to this as well and be proactive. For example, we sing for the dementia choir and at our local nursing homes.

You will be part of a strong team Karin is the area manager and your immediate supervisor. Bonus info: She is a certified Enneagram coach, and she drinks coffee from a giant jar of jam. She will be your sparring partner and guide you in your development as a leader.

Mark is the pedagogical leader at Naturligheden and your partner in crime/sparring partner in the position as pedagogical leader.

Henriette is administrative octopus and half magician. She makes things happen – whether it is applying to Nordea Fonden or blowing up a unicorn (true story).

Henriette takes care of most administrative tasks, and Karin takes care of the finances and most of the personnel management. That means you can focus on the professional side and set the direction for our pedagogical practice and quality.

And then there are of course all of our wonderful pedagogical staff, and our kitchen, which each day goes the extra mile to make a difference and give all our children a good day.

Our expectations of you in the role of pedagogical leader What do we mean by pedagogical leadership? And what do we expect from you in the role of pedagogical leader?

We expect you to spend as much time as possible with the children.

As a pedagogical leader you are not part of the standard staff rationing, but that does not mean you do not have time with the children.

On the contrary, it means you are where an extra adult makes the biggest difference. And that is rarely in the office. Where is it then? Yes, it requires an overview and finesse, and we expect you to have that.

Of course there are tasks that need to be solved behind the screen, but we share those among us so we can get you out of the office as much as possible.

You should be out there so you can get to know all our children and parents, and they should get to know you. The small miracles, the pedagogy and the professional adjustments happen in the rooms.

So if you are met with a skeptical look and a “who are you?” when you walk in the door, you should be more out there.

We expect you to involve your colleagues and lead from the front.

By this we mean that it is important to align expectations about how you approach the task, and what your colleagues expect from you.

Just as we involve and listen to the children, it is also important that we involve and listen to each other so that we can develop together.

They should know where you are and feel that you are leading from the front.

We expect you to stand firm on your professional foundation, be curious and proactive about new knowledge.

In short: you should have professional ambitions, be able to set direction, naturally move toward the rooms, ensure followers and be ready to put on the professional work gloves. We will help you with the rest.

Salary and employment In addition to children's songs, sock creatures, the “private leadership coach” and great colleagues, you will of course also receive a salary.

Salary and employment terms are in accordance with the applicable collective agreement and based on the rules for local pay formation.
