Pedagogical IT and digitalization consultant with technical insight and didactic understanding

Do you want to bridge technology, pedagogy and practice and help develop digitalisation in the school and day-care sector?

Vallensbæk Municipality is seeking an Educational-IT and Digitalisation Consultant for the Center for Children and Youth. We are looking for a colleague with both solid technical understanding and strong didactic competences, who can translate digital possibilities into solutions that create value for children, young people and staff. For us, digitalisation is not about technology for its own sake, but about supporting the core tasks and creating solutions that work in practice.

As a consultant you will have a central role in the digital development across the center, the municipality’s schools and day-care facilities. You will work with strategic development, pedagogical-didactic advisory and technical coordination, implementation and support of digital solutions.

You will work closely with leaders, teachers, educators, administrative staff, the municipality’s central IT department and external suppliers. You must be able to move between strategic considerations about future digital learning environments and concrete technical problems. We do not expect you to solve all technical tasks yourself, but that you can understand the connections, identify challenges and contribute to qualified solutions.

Your tasks will consist of

Digital development and didactic support

• Support the development of digital learning environments based on pedagogical and didactic needs.
• Advise leaders and staff on qualified use of digital technologies.
• Develop and deliver teaching sequences, workshops and competence development.
• Provide guidance on digital learning resources that support teaching, learning and well-being.
• Contribute to work on technological understanding, digital citizenship and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI).

Technical advisory and implementation

• Be the centre’s technical sparring partner on digital systems, platforms and IT solutions.
• Create overview and coherence in the digital system landscape in the school and day-care sector.
• Engage in dialogue about system integrations, data flows, user and rights management and technical architecture.
• Contribute to requirements specification, procurement, implementation and evaluation of digital solutions.
• Serve as a link between the centre, the municipality’s IT department, suppliers and institutions.
• Coordinate technical and organizational challenges in the use and operation of digital solutions.
• Contribute to work on information security, data protection and GDPR in collaboration with relevant professional functions.

Who are you?

You have a relevant professional background, e.g. as a teacher, educator, IT consultant or digitalisation consultant. Your educational title is not decisive. The most important thing is that you can combine technical insight with pedagogical-didactic understanding.

Pedagogical and didactic competences

• Good understanding of didactics, learning and pedagogical processes.
• Experience with teaching, guidance or competence development.
• Ability to develop and deliver practice-oriented learning processes.
• Insight into the use of digital technologies in teaching and pedagogical work.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues in an understandable language.

As a person

You are curious about both technology and people and thrive on creating coherence between the two areas. You work independently and structurally, build good relationships and can collaborate across professional disciplines.

You have an eye for both long-term development and everyday concrete challenges. At the same time, you can prioritise and maintain an overview in an organisation with many stakeholders.

You should be able to talk to an IT technician about system integrations one day and facilitate a didactic development process with teachers or educators the next – and you thrive with both parts.

Practical information

The position is 37 hours per week including the lunch break.

Employment is in accordance with the applicable agreement between KL and the negotiating organisation. Salary is set based on your qualifications and experience. You will be informed of the expected salary level for the position before a potential second interview.

You will be employed in the Center for Children and Youth, Vallensbæk Town Hall, Vallensbæk Station Square 100, 2665 Vallensbæk Strand.
